Dr. Michael Wilkinson and Dr. Robert Pyle would like to announce the association with Michelle Green, FNP, and Alana Varella, FNP. Michelle will be working with Dr. Wilkinson in the area of gastroenterology, Alana will be working with Dr. Pyle in the area of Endocrinology. Both young ladies are well educated and a perfect addition to the practice.

Hal F. Martens, DO is no longer practicing at Internal Medicine Associates of Palestine. He announced his departure to the group on May 10, 2021 and his last clinic day was May 28, 2021. If you are a former patient of Dr. Martens, you will need to quickly find another rheumatologist to take over your care.

We will gladly forward your records to another rheumatologist for you. You will need to complete a records release authorization that can be obtained by contacting the office. There have been a large number of requests for records and we are working diligently to expedite this process. Thank you for your patience and call us with any questions.

This is in response to Governor Abbott's announcement this past Monday, March 1, 2021, concerning the removing of the requirement for masks to be worn in public places. His order is for public places and does not include medical facilities.

Masks will still be required to be worn at Internal Medicine Associates of Palestine, as well as all other medical facilities and hospitals throughout the state. The order in which Internal Medicine Associates is governed by is through the Texas State Medical Board, and until such time they deem to remove the requirement, masks will continue to be required. This requirement is not optional and is non-negotiable.

We strive to provide each patient safe and quality medical care while at the same time keeping each of our doctors and employees safe. We encourage each of our patients and their families to continue to exercise safe personal protection as the COVID19 virus is still extremely active in our area, state, and nation. We also encourage everyone to consider being vaccinated to help prevent the spread of this terrible virus. This is in no way intended to infringe on anyone's personal liberties, as we strive to keep everyone who enters our office safe during this pandemic.
