Your anxiety isn’t being dramatic. It’s just really, really vigilant. 😓

If you’ve ever said any of these things in therapy (or to yourself), I need you to hear this:

Your anxiety is not an inconvenience. You’re not “too much.” You’re not wasting anyone’s time. You’re not broken.

Therapy isn’t just for people in crisis. It’s for people who are tired of living in constant fight-or-flight mode. It’s for people who are functioning on the outside but barely holding it together inside.

You don’t have to apologize for being human. You don’t have to be “sick enough” to deserve help.

🚲 Moved around energy stored in my body by riding bike to gym
🏋️‍♀️ When in doubt, sweat it out
🐕 My welcoming home committee (he’s veryyyy welcoming 😂)
🪴 Barefoot in the garden, soaking up the mid morning sunlight
🎾 Played fetch with Bodhi because he always makes me laugh
📖 Reading and learning something new always makes me feel recharged and excited for my week
🥘 Cooked some yummy food to fuel myself and care for my body

Most of what you’ve been told about anxiety is wrong. And it’s keeping you stuck.

After years of specializing in anxiety treatment, I’ve realized that a big part of my job is correcting myths. Myths that make people feel broken, weak, or like they’re doing something wrong.

Let’s be clear: Anxiety is not a personal failure. It’s a nervous system response. And most of the common advice out there - “just relax,” “think positive,” “stop worrying” - isn’t just unhelpful. It’s harmful.

Treatment works. Not the Instagram wellness version - actual, evidence-based therapy. DBT, exposure therapy, somatic work, mindfulness practices that are grounded in nervous system science.

If you’ve been trying to “fix” your anxiety on your own and feeling like a failure because it’s not working - this is why. You’ve been working with the wrong information.

This isn’t just about “beach vibes” or unwinding. It’s about nervous system regulation …and the ocean does it SO WELL 🌊

When you’re at the beach, your brain gets constant signals that you’re safe: rhythmic waves, open space, sand and salt air. These aren’t just pleasant - they’re regulating your system. 🩵
