Compression shorts aren’t just cute and comfy, they’re low key pelvic floor superheroes.

By offering gentle support and stability to your core and hips, they help your pelvic floor do its job with less strain. Whether you’re hitting the gym, running after your kids, lifting, jumping, or healing postpartum… that extra compression can be a game changer for:

• Reducing pelvic heaviness
• Supporting prolapse symptoms
• Improving alignment during movement
• Boosting confidence to move freely

Feeling secure in your body isn’t just about aesthetics it’s about support, strength, and honoring the muscles that hold you up every single day.

Compression isn’t a cure… but it is a hug for your pelvic floor.

Because the real commitment is to the muscles that support you every single day!

Your pelvic floor shows up for you when you laugh, sneeze, jump, birth babies, lift weights, and move through life. So while leaving that old situationship on read might feel empowering… scheduling that check in with your pelvic floor therapist?

That’s queen behavior!

We’re prioritizing:
-Strong cores over mixed signals
-Healthy boundaries over unhealthy attachments
-Nervous system regulation over nervous texts
-Support from professionals who actually care

Your ex might not deserve your energy but your pelvic floor absolutely does.

Here’s to the muscles that hold us together… in all the seasons. 🤍

Birth Story from our therapist, Bobbi Cothiere

On a Sunday morning, I woke up without any immediate signs of labor. My toddler is still nursing and requested some milk upon waking. Within a few minutes of her nursing, I started my first contraction, which was around 9am. They were consistent for about an hour every 15 minutes. Everything picked up extremely quickly and contractions were 3-4 minutes apart by 12pm. I used pain management techniques such as TENs, heating pad, and sitting reverse on the toilet. By 12:30pm I started to have the urge to push so I transferred to the birthing pool where my water broke. My support team arrived between 12:45-1:15pm and provided me with essential oils, cold wash clothes, and hip squeezes. By 1:36pm our son was born in the birthing pool. I was leaning over the edge of the pool with my right leg up in a lunge. I focused on my breath and breathed him down as slow as I could. I had a couple of superficial lacerations that were able to heal on their own. He was born with a nuchal cord that was quickly unraveled. It was a beautiful birth that was very similar to my daughters. I am eternally grateful for my midwives, Jojo and Lauren (who were both present at my daughters birth), and Kristin, our doula for all of their guidance, compassion and reassurance throughout the entire process.

Bobbi will be returning to the office the first week in November 🩶

If you’ve been struggling with jaw tension, TMJ pain, headaches, pelvic floor dysfunction, or deep-seated core instability — the cause might be something you’ve never considered:

Your jaw and your pelvic floor are intricately connected.

In this fascinating and experiential workshop, Dr. Hanna Shays and Dr. Katie Usher will guide you through the surprising science and practical techniques that reveal how these two seemingly distant areas work together — and what happens when they don’t.

You’ll learn how to:

* Understand the jaw–pelvic floor connection and why it matters for your health
* Identify and release deep tension patterns that impact your whole body
* Reconnect with your core strength from the inside out
* Restore postural balance and alignment for lasting relief

This is not just theory — you’ll experience targeted exercises, gentle release techniques, and integrative practices you can use immediately to support your jaw, pelvic floor, and overall wellbeing.

When women share their pelvic floor stories, we break the silence around something too many of us are told to “just live with.”

Your voice matters because when one woman speaks up, another feels less alone.
Sharing our experiences brings awareness, encourages healing, and reminds us that our bodies deserve care, strength, and support. It’s important for women to share their experiences with other women about pelvic floor therapy because:

1. Breaks the Silence Around Taboo Topics
Pelvic health issues like leaking urine, painful s*x, prolapse, or postpartum recovery are often stigmatized or seen as something women should “just live with.” Hearing other women openly share normalizes the conversation and reduces shame.

2. Builds Connection and Support
Sharing personal experiences creates community. Women realize they aren’t alone in their struggles, which can be deeply healing and empowering.

3. Raises Awareness
Many women don’t even know pelvic floor therapy exists, or that help is available. Hearing real stories from peers spreads knowledge faster than clinical explanations alone.

4. Encourages Seeking Help
Women are more likely to take action when they hear from someone they trust who has gone through it. Personal stories can be the push someone needs to book an appointment.

5. Validates Healing Journeys
Recovery can feel slow or uncertain. Sharing progress and setbacks shows that healing is a process and gives hope to others in similar situations.

6. Empowers Women’s Health Advocacy
When women share, they advocate not only for themselves but for future generations. It shifts cultural norms from silence to proactive self-care.

Let’s turn private struggles into collective empowerment. Have you shared your pelvic floor journey yet?

Your Questions, Answered!

Ever wondered what pelvic floor therapy really involves, who it’s for, or how it can help? We’ve gathered the most common questions we hear in the clinic—so you can feel informed, empowered, and ready to take the next step in your healing journey.

1. What is pelvic floor therapy?
At Kaizen Pelvic Wellness, pelvic floor therapy is all about restoring balance, strength, and connection to your body. We use a combination of gentle, evidence-based techniques to help your pelvic floor muscles work with you—whether your goal is less pain, better bladder control, or feeling confident in your body again.

2. Who can benefit from our services?
We help women at all stages; postpartum, post-surgery, navigating menopause, or simply wanting to prevent future issues. Whether you’re dealing with leakage, pelvic pain, prolapse, constipation, or core weakness, our care is customized to you.

3. Will my sessions be uncomfortable?
Your comfort is our priority. We move at your pace, explaining every step so you feel safe and informed. Therapy should never be painful. We use gentle techniques to improve mobility, strength, and coordination over time.

4. How many sessions will I need?
Most clients notice meaningful changes within 4–6 visits, but your journey is unique. We’ll create a personalized plan that fits your needs, schedule, and lifestyle.

5. Do I need a referral to start?
Our office doesn’t require a referral but your therapist will review any information sent from your primary doctor or specialist, via a referral before beginning treatment.

Women’s Health Physical Therapy

Mula Bandha was born out of a desire to help women achieve their full potential before, during and after pregnancy. Our mission is to prevent dysfunction now and down the road so this generation of women can be confident and strong throughout their lifetime. No woman should have to accept “a new normal” of leaking or peeing at any point other than the toilet, pain with movement, discomfort during s*x, etc. We know that proper rehabilitation can help all of these things and there are resources out there, like us, to help.

Mula Bandha’s services include one on one PT evaluations, treatments, preventative health, Telehealth and group classes for women in the postpartum period. Call or message us today to get plugged in!
