Dr. Larissa Camejo is proud to share that she was recently in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) convention, engaging in the discussion of early surgical intervention in glaucoma. Here, partnered with Dr. Ike Ahmed , known as the IG pioneer and who fiercely advocated for interventional glaucoma when it wasn’t all that popular.
Many of my patients have listened to me explain why, for many people, surgery can be the most effective way to manage glaucoma and delaying it, is not always safer.
I am proud to say that in our practice, we follow a comprehensive approach to glaucoma management where we treat the patient and not the disease. Enhancing quality of life is high on our list of goals, right next to arresting glaucoma progression.
In this video, we are discussing canaloplasty with the device iTrack Advance. Canaloplasty restores the physiologic outflow system. In other words, it makes your eye’s natural plumbing system work better. Particularly helpful in early disease.
