No more excuses! Just 2 minutes of intense exercise every day could extend lifespan. 🙌 Read more below ⬇️

💫 Recent studies have found that accumulating vigorous activity in short bouts across the week can help us live longer. Research also showed that for a given amount of physical activity, increasing the intensity of the exercise is associated with a lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease. It is not just the amount of activity, but also the intensity, that is important for cardiovascular health.

💫 When compared to two minutes of intense exercise per week, 15 minutes of vigorous exercise was associated with an 18 percent lower death risk and a 15 percent lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Meanwhile, 12 minutes was linked to a 17 percent lower risk of cancer.

💫 Generally, the more exercise the better. For example, roughly 53 minutes of physical activity on a weekly basis was associated with a 36% lower risk of death from any cause.

MIND-BODY-MIND-BODY

The notion that the mind and body are separate is simply false. The nervous system bridges them both and they communicate in both directions to direct our states. States include emotions but are a larger umbrella for emotional responses that include bodily responses too. States are also more objective to define.

This is a heat map from a study described in the book "The Neuroscience of Emotion" by Adolphs and Anderson at Caltech. People vary in how they express emotions verbally but the body representations are relatively stereotyped.

We are sophisticated animals but we are still animals and these maps are established by our genome, modified by experience but nonetheless relatively hardwired. Learning to recognize your bodily responses to different mental states is powerful.

Let’s discuss recovery & injury prevention.

If your body doesn’t have time to heal & recover, there is no way that you can get stronger💪🏼or faster⚡️ Without rest days & effective recovery tools, you may put yourself at risk of injury🤕. You should always include at least 1-2 rest days per week. One of these rest days could be used as an active recovery day i.e. yoga 🧘🏼‍♂️ or a walk🚶‍♀️outside instead of a complete rest day.

The best recovery tools are easy to use, require no fuss and are extremely effective. This is why I recommend compression sleeves. Theraice can be used as a heat pack, ice and compression therapy all in one! Throw in the freezer🧊 for a cold compression therapy or heat in the microwave for as little as 10 seconds.
