The LOVEDOG FOUNDATION
"Changing Lives one Paw at a Time"

Wenona’s dream has come true:

Rick Bailey started LoveDog, Inc. with a dream of creating a canine training company that was unique in every way. He earned his BA in child psychology and worked as a child behavioral therapist before creating LoveDog Inc. Rick’s passion for dogs and helping others has been the driving force behind LoveDog Inc, his renowned training company, that has grown from a local small business to working with clients all over the world for the past 20 years. Brandee Bailey, Rick's wife, has been fostering and volunteering with dog rescues for over 25 years. Previously she was the Director of Operations at the largest cage-free, no-kill rescue in the United States before coming to work with Rick at LoveDog, Inc. FACT: Many people with "true" medical needs go without any kind of assistance in our country to help with emotional trauma, chronic disease management, pain management, physical disabilities, injuries, behavioral health conditions, and just an overall healthy state of mind. There are several peer-reviewed studies that indicate the positive effects canine support therapy has on the above-mentioned medical issues for people of any age. Unfortunately, there is a HUGE lack of funding, space, and training resources to help provide support dogs to those in need. This happens mostly due to the lack of financial resources and skill set it takes to train a "legitimate" Service dog, Therapy Dog, or Emotional Support dog. Rick and Brandee have a very unique business model with several trainers on site and years of experience training dogs from basic puppy obedience classes to Service dogs for clients with medical needs. Additionally, Brandee is so very passionate about rescue and understands the medical/operational side of the dog business, they knew in order to offer their services to more clients, they needed to expand. They met while Wenona was doing some consulting work for the cage free rescue mentioned above. Wenona is a HUGE dog lover, and would love nothing more than to own the world's largest rescue, hence why these two hit it off like two peas in a pod! Wenona has decades of business experience working with both for-profit and not for profit businesses. She has spent the last ten years of her career working in Healthcare Hospitals, Managed Care Organizations, Substance Use, and Hospice non-profits. She also was on the board of directors for Horses Healing Hearts, an Equine Therapy-based non-profit in Delray, FL, with a focus on children and emotional trauma. When Brandee, Rick, and Wenona started talking business again, they develop a strategic plan with a philanthropic division of their LoveDog, Inc. training and boarding business. And that is how "The LoveDog Foundation" was born. Wenona's fiancée, Benjamin Beers, is also a consulting member of their leadership team with a focus on Marketing, Branding, and Graphic Design. Ben also has years of business experience within multiple industries and is very involved with philanthropy. Our LoveDog Canine Assistance Initiative will provide trained support dogs for our veterans, first responders, seniors, and many others who have a true medical need at little or no cost. We also have a very special and niche program close to all our hearts called "The LoveBug Project." With this special program, we provide a fully trained Emotional Support Dog for children diagnosed with a chronic illness and/or battling a terminal disease. We would really love your support in sponsoring one of our programs, donating, or spreading the word so we can help as many people as possible. If you would like more information or details on how you can help, we’d love to talk with you more about our “LoveDog Foundation." Please help us change lives one paw at a time.

Therapy Dogs provide an opportunity for seniors to give and receive physical touch, display affection, and raise their spirits. Petting, stroking and “playing” with a pet can provide physical activity to non-active senior residents as well as a distraction to reduce the frustration and agitation that comes with limiting abilities as one ages. In a facility type environment, animal assisted therapy can transform senior residents into a calm state and reduce them from escalating into aggressive interaction with staff and others. In many cases seniors look forward to a weekly dogs visit to the nursing home.

Canine emotional therapy works and is “the best non pharmaceutical” intervention to help those in need! ❤️🐾❤️ Our non profit foundation; www.thelovedogfoundation.org.

Please consider donating to our Foundation so we can help provide support dogs to children, seniors, veterans, and first responders who have a "true medical need" but lack the financial resources for the cost. We work with rescues or reputable breeders to source our dogs for all of our programs.

The Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) is a non-profit research and education organization that is gathering, funding, and sharing scientific research to demonstrate the positive health impacts of companion animals.

The human-animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that is influenced by behaviors that are essential to the health and well-being of both. This includes, but is not limited to, emotional, psychological, and physical interactions of people, animals, and the environment.

Fun Fact: Why do Jewish holidays start at nighttime?
According to the Torah, the story of creation in Genesis says “And it was evening, and it was morning day one”, “And it was evening, and it was morning; the second day”, thus night comes before day. So for the Jewish calendar all days begin at nightfall and end the next day at nightfall including holidays.

For those of you who may not understand the “health benefits” of animal companions for seniors, let me help educate you!

My mother is 72 and has survived through 3 strokes.
This last one was a doozy, and now she suffers from severe global aphasia (similar to dementia). She lost every bit of independence and now has to rely 100% on her daughter and full time caregiver to take care of her. Needless to say, that has caused her some severe depression and anxiety amongst many other symptoms that are very hard to manage.

Our absolutely incredible caregiver Mary has this fuzzy little Pomeranian named Prince who is totally adorable, sweet, chill, and he's a support dog. She brought Prince over a few days ago, and my mom literally held him in her lap for 3 hours non stop just snuggling and smiling away. It was incredible to see! She also was much calmer that evening as well. I have three Aussies, however, they are a little big for her lap these days, but she does love having them with her on the couch or sitting on the patio.

Welcome to our "Love Dog Foundation" page....

One of my partners, Rick Bailey, has been training dogs for over 20 years and has a very viable Training/Boarding business with clients all over the country. My other partner, Brandee Bailey, has been fostering and volunteering with dog rescues for over 25 years. Previously she was the Director of Operations at the largest cage free, no-kill rescue in the United States before coming to work with Rick at LoveDog, Inc. in 2018. We three together made THIS happen...

Our several "LoveDog Foundation" programs will provide trained support dogs for our veterans, children, first responders, seniors, and many others across the country who have a true medical need, at little or no cost due to the generosity of our friends, clients, donors, and local communities.

We also have a very special and niche program which is VERY close to my heart... "The LoveBug Project" is a special program that provides fully trained emotional support dogs for children battling a chronic disease or medical illness. The program, in partnership with LoveDog, local rescues, and our many referral partners selects and fully trains support dogs with children in need. Canine therapy is proven in several peer reviewed studies to help offset symptoms such as pain, anxiety, depression, fear and loneliness.

Do you believe in the positive effects health wise, of canine emotional support???
