Our seedlings are nestled in our towers and beginning to grow and we are germinating our next round of seedlings. We are doing a grow cycle so we have produce coming off the towers every 2 - 3 weeks so we have a consistent and reliable stream of organic, non-gmo produce.

Another interesting read, similar to last Friday's post. Our urban farm uses up 95% less water then conventional commercial farming, while producing an organic and NON-GMO product.

We are creating more food, with less land, AND less water; I would call that hitting two birds with one stone, but that under-sells it.

The next big wars will be fought over water.

Wonderful article by Fortune Magazine, not like we needed anymore motivation to start taking control of our own food supply.

The world has a massive food crisis -- so big that the World Bank and the United Nations say there won’t be enough food to feed the global population by 2050. But feeding the world is big business.

Our lettuce is already starting to peak through!
We get our seeds from Johnny's Selected Seeds, inserted them into these moss grow blocks, and made sure they stayed in a warm dark area, with plenty of watering.

If these babies keep it up, we're gonna move them into our Aeroponic Tower Gardens so they can really take off.

We've decided to begin taking control of our food supply and we began germination a couple days ago. It is time to start moving away from our out-dated version of commercial farming here in the Coachella Valley; Not only to save water, but to provide organic, and NON-GMO produce that is not only better for the environment, but better for our human health.

Tower Garden, thank you for the towers that will use 95% less water and take up 90% less land.
