I’ve been saying this for some time. It must be very uncomfortable being a Christian pastor who is afraid of his MAGA flock.
If you are a Christian, and you are not speaking out against President Trump, understand something:
We are never, ever again going to allow you to use morality as a bludgeon to strike at us again.
The “moral high ground” you’ve claimed for decades hasn’t just been lost; it has been demolished by the weight of your own silence.
This week, the leader you’ve anointed as a defender of faith looked at the death of a public servant and expressed “gladness” that Robert Mueller is dead. This isn’t just “tough talk” or “mean tweets”—it is the celebration of death. It is the antithesis of every “Pro-Life” or “Values-First” sermon ever preached from a pulpit.
And yet, the silence from the pews is deafening.
Your veil is off. Your disguise has melted; your mask has fallen.
For years, you lectured the rest of us on “character,” “integrity,” and “sanctity.” You used your faith as a weapon to dictate how others should live, claiming a divine mandate to police the nation’s conscience. But when the man you’ve placed in power mocks the dead and dances on the graves of those who served this country, your “morality” is revealed for what it truly is: a partisan tool of convenience.
You don’t get to preach about the “sanctity of life” on Sunday and then look the other way on Monday when your leader celebrates a human being’s passing. You don’t get to talk about “Christian charity” while applauding a man who treats cruelty as a virtue.
The era of you acting as the nation’s moral arbiter is over. From this point forward, when you try to invoke “values” to justify a political maneuver, know that we see right through it. We see the hollow shell of a faith that traded its soul for a seat at the table of power.
You aren’t protecting a legacy; you are burying it. Don’t expect us to listen to your lectures ever again. We’ve seen the fruit of your tree, and it is rotten to the core.
