💃Rhythmic input can help us tend to our nervous systems, whether it be through music we enjoy, tapping (or playing an instrument) on your body, or moving to the music.
🎵simple things to try in your (parked) car for a nervous system downshift:
Tap side to side on your steering wheel
Move gently to the music
Sing along
Tap your feet back and forth
❤️‍🩹
The world is a lot to handle, especially right now. Taking time to tend to yourself helps you be more present, more connected and creative.

🌴 I’m beyond grateful to be part of the Revolutionary Practice Summit: Integrating Alternative Therapeutic Healing Methods this May 3–7, 2026 in Palm Springs, CA!!

This event brings together therapists, healers, and seekers who believe that real transformation happens when we combine science, creativity, and connection.
If your heart’s been craving a reset this is it. 🌸 register via my link in bio!

🧠 I’ll be sharing neuropsychology based approaches for using music as a tool in therapy (YES, even if you’re not a musician!). 🎵

You are a creator 🪄✨
You are creative in each choice, whether it’s what you wear, what you make for dinner, how you write that text or email… life is creativity.
When we practice creativity regularly, we’re reminded of our sense of agency. When we do it in community, we connect on a deep level. We let ourselves be vulnerable in safe ways, leading to connection and trust. We remember that we’re all on “spaceship earth” together (nod to Buckminster Fuller).

This week’s card calls us to calm 🪷
Other reminders included on the power of music, arts and laughter, and supporting small businesses.
🎁 the creative and curious deck makes a great gift for preteens through adults! See my website 🔗 in bio for details.

What’s something you love about concerts?

For me: connection and effervescence ✨
I love that we’re not really strangers if we like the same band. I met some kind folks last night with common threads in addition to music.
✨When we have this connection and are IN the music, collective effervescence happens.. synchronized movement, singing, clapping, heart rate and respiration.
This, combined with the buzz of bass in my body, feels downright medicinal.

Thank you and 🙌 🤘

One of my favorite bands at one of my favorite venues on Halloween=epic night!

This is a time for courage and creativity, humor and absurdity, and remembering we are all walking each other home. We are all neighbors, called to love one another.
I was inspired to sing this ode written by Shane Ford. The music was subconsciously inspired by Mama Nous (always welcome here) and the Beverly Hillbilies theme 🤣
Music can bridge divides. It brings us together. It mends us, individually and collectively. ❤️‍🩹

Creativity is a catalyst 🌀
It can bring us up or down, individually or collectively. Our imagination shapes perception, thought and action.

Taking time to play music and be in nature directs my energy away from what divides us, and towards the many ways we are interconnected. I hope this mini dose of both may help shift your energy forward too. 🌀 ✨

Need a dose of creativity and connection? Come join me on zoom tonight for Creative and Curious! I’ll pull a card from my deck of the same name. We’ll do the prompt together (sharing optional)-no experience, cost, or fancy supplies needed. Every Monday, 6-6:30pm est.

See my 🔗 🌲 for details and to get your copy of the deck! 🃏

Action is the anecdote to despair 🤘
Expression is the opposite of depression. 🎤
⚡️You are powerful-your perspective, your words, your action, your gifts..
Stress, fear, anger and trauma can try to stop you.
🧠Your brain, just trying to keep you alive, sends signals to fight, flight, freeze or fawn.
🚦 taking time to stop, notice this response, and take action helps you develop new neural pathways and habits. How wild it is that we can reshape our brain!
✨ taking time to create reminds you of your inherent power to shift your mood and focus your energy on what matters. It also helps reduce perfectionism and fear of failure, which bolsters our ability to communicate and connect with more authenticity, leading to more fulfilling relationships and teams of all kinds.
🌎
We’re all in this together. Let’s take action to build a better world in ways small and big, in the levels of individual and collective.
🃏
These prompts are from my Creative and Curious Card Deck, available on my website- Lincoln bayou. ;) 🔗

Does your brain pop up with songs when reading certain phrases?
🧠🎵
It’s a phenomenon known as involuntary musical imagery.
….(now THAT song’s in my head!)
🔌
Every. Time. I see this pops in my head 🤣

I love that they are powered by renewable energy 🌎

Visiting my new friend Vanessa on my way home from the NAMI SC conference. Grateful for a day of learning, community and advocacy!
