Sometimes The Biggest Risk Is What Happens After You Send Someone Home.

We’re aware of a case where an employee arrived at work impaired.
They were sent home instead of being properly tested.

On the way, a tragic accident occurred.
The employer’s handling of the situation became a central issue in the legal aftermath.

This isn’t about punishment.
It’s about responsibility.

With 24/7 onsite testing, you don’t send risk back into the community.
You address it immediately, safely, and compliantly.

NMS Management Services helps companies respond the right way, even under pressure.

One of the biggest mistakes companies make after an incident is sending an employee offsite for testing.

If an employee is suspected of being under the influence, putting them back behind the wheel creates unnecessary risk for everyone involved.

We’ve seen situations where:
• Managers sent employees home instead of securing testing.
• Employees were told to drive to a lab.
• Decisions made in the moment created long-term liability.

With 24/7 onsite testing, the employee stays where they are.

Testing comes to you.
Documentation starts immediately.

That’s safer.
That’s smarter.
That’s defensible.

Building A Safer, Stronger Workforce Starts with The Right Screenings.

Warehouse roles are physically demanding and carry real injury risk when candidates are not properly evaluated before hire.

Fit for Duty and lift evaluations help employers answer a simple but critical question:
Can this person safely perform the job?

Role-specific screening helps reduce workers’ comp exposure, improve retention, and protect both employees and operations.

The Fit for Duty exam (Form MCSA-5876) evaluates:

• Medical history
• Vitals
• Vision and hearing
• Overall physical capability

A lift evaluation further confirms whether a candidate can safely meet the physical demands of the role.

NMS Management Services helps employers implement screening programs aligned to real warehouse risk.

Let’s talk about a screening plan tailored to your operation.

Building A Safer, Stronger Workforce Starts with The Right Screenings.

Company drivers often represent one of the highest areas of liability for an organization.
Between road exposure, public interaction, and vehicle operation, the risk adds up quickly.

Role-specific screening helps reduce that risk.

Implementing Fit for Duty exams allows employers to evaluate whether drivers are physically capable of performing their job safely, before incidents occur.

The Fit for Duty exam (Form MCSA-5876) evaluates:

• Medical history.
• Vitals.
• Vision and hearing.
• Physical capability for driving duties.

When managed correctly, it helps reduce workers’ comp exposure, protect drivers, and support defensible hiring decisions.

NMS Management Services helps employers evaluate and mitigate driver-related risk through compliant screening programs.

Let’s talk about a screening plan tailored to your operation.

Building A Safer, Stronger Workforce Starts with The Right Screenings.

For companies with non-DOT safety-sensitive positions, hiring decisions directly impact employee safety, retention, and operational continuity.

Role-Specific Screening Matters!

You need to know whether a candidate is truly fit for duty, especially when their role involves heavy machinery, production environments, or elevated risk.

The Fit for Duty exam (Form MCSA-5876) evaluates:
• Medical history
• Vitals
• Vision and hearing
• Physical capability for the role

When managed correctly, it helps reduce incidents, support fair hiring decisions, and protect your workforce.

NMS Management Services helps employers design screening programs aligned to the actual risks of the job.

Ready to onboard qualified candidates faster and safer?

Building A Safer, Stronger Workforce Starts with The Right Screenings.

Most fleet operators know the first step in onboarding a CDL holder is verifying a valid Fit for Duty card. The real compliance question comes next.

What happens when that card expires?
Who is tracking it?
And how quickly can you re-clear a driver without slowing operations?

The DOT Fit for Duty exam (Form MCSA-5876) evaluates medical history, vitals, vision, hearing, and overall physical qualification. Managing it correctly protects safety and keeps your fleet audit-ready.

NMS Management Services helps fleet operators stay compliant before gaps appear.

Ready To Onboard Qualified Drivers Faster and Safer?

• Training that supports consistent decisions.
• Documentation that holds up under scrutiny.

One of the biggest risks right now is assuming cannabis rescheduling affects all employees the same way.

IT DOES NOT.

DOT-regulated safety-sensitive roles continue to comply with federal testing requirements.
Non-DOT roles are mainly governed by state law and employer policy.

Blurring that line creates risk, confusion, and exposure.

NMS Management Services helps employers clearly separate DOT and non-DOT requirements while maintaining a unified compliance strategy.

DOT Random Testing Rates for 2026 Are Official — Here’s What Employers Need to Know

The U.S. Department of Transportation has published the 2026 minimum random drug and alcohol testing rates for safety-sensitive functions across all DOT agencies.

These minimum annual random testing rates are part of your federally mandated compliance program if you operate in aviation, motor carrier, transit, railroad, pipeline, or maritime environments:

FMCSA (Motor Carrier)
• 50% random drug testing
• 10% random alcohol testing

FAA (Aviation)
• 25% random drug testing
• 10% random alcohol testing

FTA (Transit)
• 50% random drug testing
• 10% random alcohol testing

FRA (Railroad)
• 25% random drug (covered service & MOW)
• 50% random drug (mechanical)
• 10% random alcohol (all categories)

PHMSA (Pipeline)
• 50% random drug testing
• No alcohol random testing requirement

USCG (Maritime)
• 50% random drug testing
• 10% random alcohol testing

These rates take effect January 1, 2026.

Random testing remains one of the most effective tools to deter substance misuse, support workplace safety, and keep your safety-sensitive workforce compliant and audit-ready.

Let NMS Management Services help you align your random testing program with the latest rates and defend your compliance strategy.
