Yes! We see this happen often - resolution of pain and symptoms with conservative care.
Disc herniations don’t have to mean pain and limitations. They also don’t have to mean surgery!

04/03/2026

💡Did you know a majority of tears and image findings DO NOT require surgery?

💡MRI/Xray results like ”severe” or “large” tears or even “advanced” arthritis do not mean surgery is the solution or even advised.

💡Research has shown time and time again that a conservative treatment plan catered to your impairments, symptoms and findings can lead to similar or even better results.

💡This is also true for tears of tissue that “don’t heal.” Having a tear or arthritis does not have to equal pain and limitation. Weakness, stiffness, instability, nerve sensitivity, neuromuscular dysfunction and imbalances are often the culprits of this.

💡In cases where surgery is indicated, we all know that the stronger one goes in, the better they come out.

💡In fact, MRIs and imaging often are not the first line of action. So much can be done to begin healing. Waiting and doing nothing is not the answer.

💡Come see us; we would love to perform a thorough evaluation and answer your questions to see if you’re a good candidate for physical therapy!

☀️We love our patients and helping them get better.

☀️We love working collaboratively with our patients towards THEIR goals.

☀️We love the resilience of our bodies and what they’re capable of when we care for them.

☀️We love community and value helping one another.

☀️We love getting to know our patients and the connections we build.

☀️We love our co-workers and the work family/team we have.

♥️ At BBPT, we do what we do and the way we do it because it’s what we love and value. Skilled and valuable care of course is of utmost priority. However, providing this WITH compassion and connection and in a positive environment is always the mission as well!
♥️When we get feedback/reviews that reflect experiences on both of these levels, it reminds us that quality care cannot be one of these things without the other.
♥️Today, we got two verbal and one written reviews/appreciations, thanking us for these things. What a win for the day! 🥰🎉Love what you do!

Spring and Summer are coming…oh my!! 😆 👏🏽 ☀️ 🥰 Are YOU ready?

💪🏽 😊 Strength training does more than build muscle; it supports bone health, improves balance and enhances mental well-being.
💐 🧺 Stronger muscles make it easier to perform tasks like bending to plant flowers or standing from a park bench. 🏃🏽‍♀️ ⛰️ Stronger, more stable joints help us hike up and down those Alaskan trails and mountains with more power and reduced risk of injury.
🚲 🛶 Enhanced balance and agility training reduces fall and injury risk, important for enjoying outdoor Alaskan activities.
😃 🥳Additionally, exercise releases endorphins, lifting mood and combating the fatigue that can dampen summer fun.

PHYSICAL THERAPY with skilled and caring providers (hey, that’s us! 🎉🤗) ensures these benefits are achieved safely, with exercises designed for each person’s unique needs and goals.

Call and book an appointment so you don’t miss out this Summer!

💪🏽This is just a guideline as there are so many things to consider when healing from an injury/surgery. However, it is helpful to have a little framework and idea in mind to respect and trust the process.

💪🏽There are many things we can do help the process including good nutrition (decreasing inflammatory foods and increasing nutrient dense foods), good sleep, good hydration and having a trust worthy and knowledgeable PT to guide you! 😉🙌🏽
