Spring and Summer are coming…oh my!! 😆 👏🏽 ☀️ 🥰 Are YOU ready?

💪🏽 😊 Strength training does more than build muscle; it supports bone health, improves balance and enhances mental well-being.
💐 🧺 Stronger muscles make it easier to perform tasks like bending to plant flowers or standing from a park bench. 🏃🏽‍♀️ ⛰️ Stronger, more stable joints help us hike up and down those Alaskan trails and mountains with more power and reduced risk of injury.
🚲 🛶 Enhanced balance and agility training reduces fall and injury risk, important for enjoying outdoor Alaskan activities.
😃 🥳Additionally, exercise releases endorphins, lifting mood and combating the fatigue that can dampen summer fun.

PHYSICAL THERAPY with skilled and caring providers (hey, that’s us! 🎉🤗) ensures these benefits are achieved safely, with exercises designed for each person’s unique needs and goals.

Call and book an appointment so you don’t miss out this Summer!

💪🏽This is just a guideline as there are so many things to consider when healing from an injury/surgery. However, it is helpful to have a little framework and idea in mind to respect and trust the process.

💪🏽There are many things we can do help the process including good nutrition (decreasing inflammatory foods and increasing nutrient dense foods), good sleep, good hydration and having a trust worthy and knowledgeable PT to guide you! 😉🙌🏽

Hope everyone is staying safe out there! 💨 🌬️🙏🏽 This windstorm was and is no joke - Alaskans are tough.

Guess what? Another way to stay warm if your power/heating is out…Movement! 😆💪🏽♥️

If the family has wiggle bugs and scratching at the walls, set up a fun movement circuit. Make it fun and guaranteed to get you warm!

An example:
🌟squats or sit to stands
🌟jumping jacks or high knee marches
🌟floor push ups or counter push ups
🌟bent over rows
🌟deadlifts to overhead press

* use whatever you have for weight, get creative and modify *

The goal is to just move to stay safe, healthy and warm! 💪🏽

🌟OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS ~ every profession has them.
🌟Most injuries are due to repetitive or cumulative load on our tissues, vs an accident.
🌟But do you know how to reduce your risk or even prevent injury?
🌟Physical therapists are experts at helping with this! Improving ergonomics, body mechanics and adding simple and EASY ways to oppose hazards and IMPROVE health and longevity!
🌟30/30 rule is an easy example: For every 30 minutes in one position, change and move in opposite for 30 seconds. Very applicable, sustainable and EFFECTIVE at reducing or preventing pain and stiffness at end of day!
🌟Come see us and find out how to implement this and other great ideas to help you feel better right away!
