Morning Matsuvians,
A couple of reminders for our (apparently weekly) wind "event":
🚦Traffic lights that are out should be treated as stop signs.
🔦Turn your headlights on.
💸Hold onto your belongings (doors, small children, pets, etc.) securely.
👀 Watch for flying debris such as tumblesheds, fence panels, and vehicle trim pieces.

Some good news: By the end of the week we will be gaining more than 2 minutes of daylight every day. ☀️

…HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts between 60 to 80
mph possible. Wind chill values between 10 to 20 below zero.

* WHERE...Matanuska Valley.

* WHEN...From late Saturday night through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...High winds could move loose debris, damage property, and
cause power outages. Travel could be difficult. Cold temperatures
combined with strong winds could cause frostbite on exposed skin
in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A high wind watch means there is potential for a hazardous high wind
event. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe
location prior to the onset of winds.
