Dr Adrian J. Hohenwarter MD

Dr Adrian J. Hohenwarter MD “I am pleased when patients who have seen numerous physicians for their complaint find a solution and relief in often just one visit.” Dr. Adrian J.

Hohenwarter graduated from the Penn State University College of Medicine at Hershey, PA in 1989 and did his Family Medicine Residency Program at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. Dr. Adrian is an Integrative Medical doctor that combines alternative treatments with conventional medical training. Dr. Hohenwarter has been trained to treat patients by looking at the body as a whole, taking into consideration the physical, environmental, spiritual, nutritional, emotion, social and other factors that may be contributing to the patient's condition. By taking all of these factors into account, Dr. Hohenwarter can help the patient achieve ideal health and fitness levels, providing for a better quality of life. Dr. Adrian is well trained in allopathic medicine. This education is the framework on which he has built his broad based diverse practice of medicine. In addition to prescription medications and diagnostic tests used by all doctors, he utilizes herbs, nutrients, nutraceuticals, detoxification protocols, intravenous nutrients and medicines, EDTA chelation therapy, diet modification, exercise prescriptions, and progressive laboratory testing. The Oath to "First do no harm" means much more to an Integrative Doctor. Conventional doctors are desensitized to the potential side effects of prescription drugs and some testing procedures. They are aware of no other option and must do something, so they do what they were trained to do; this usually is to prescribe the latest Rx medicine. An Integrative or Naturopathic doctor has an understanding of health and disease that provides options that restore normal physiology rather than undermining health with drugs that block symptoms and hence healing mechanisms. When safer and more effective alternative therapies are available, more toxic and symptom suppressing drugs are avoided. When prescription meds, diagnostic tests and procedures including surgery are needed, they are prescribed. Dr. Adrian presents options to his patient. Having studied Family Medicine, Dr. Hohenwarter has been trained to provide comprehensive medical care for families and individuals suffering from all types of illnesses, disorders, conditions and diseases. Family medicine also emphasizes preventive care, attempting to keep the patient healthy and prevent diseases before they occur through regular exercise, a healthy diet and healthy life choices. Dr. Adrian is accepting New Patients.

Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) has increased in popularity as a non-opioid medication that may decrease chronic pain symptoms. LDN is most commonly used to treat fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and painful diabetic neuropathy. Other studies suggest that LDN provides general symptom reduction in inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s disease and multiple sclerosis.
