Andrea Throndson - Marriage + Family Therapist

Andrea brings a wealth of experience supporting teens, young adults, and adults struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, alcohol, and drug dependence. And she is an exceptional family therapist, with a passion for helping family members understand each other and communicate more effectively. Andrea started her grief work while running the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. As a bereavement therapist, Andrea worked for several years at Kara (Grief Support Services) and has extensive training and experience supporting individuals, families, and communities as they move through grief and loss. Andrea also worked for 15 years at Abilities United, an agency serving the disabled population. At Abilities United Andrea hosted a national award-winning community television program and podcast. Andrea has also worked with the Addictions Institute in Menlo Park and has extensive knowledge of addiction treatment for adults and teens. At the Camden Center, a treatment center specializing in addictions, anxiety, and depression, Andrea runs several of the process groups (including the grief, self-compassion, phase-of-life, and women’s group). She also serves as a primary therapist. Andrea also offers Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for teens and adults who are experiencing challenges with emotional regulation and has completed Marsha Linnehan’s DBT training.
