The famous Chinese Herbal formula Sheng Mai San is over 1000 years old and has many applications for cardiovascular health. In China it is used in hospitals. In the United States it is mainly used for outside of hospitals as a supplemental treatment to western medicine.
> Sheng mai san is used to help regulate the heart in certain types of palpitations and tachycardia. Research has shown it to be effective in many area including viral myocarditis (Zhang, B.R., 2024). It is used in conjunction with other herbs to increase blood plasma volume in POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Deficient blood volume in POTS has been shown to a common underlying factor, (Wei, L., 2025). Sheng mai san can also be used to give the heart support in times of emotional shock.
> Sheng mai san usually consists of 3 herbs but is often combined with other formulas to help depending on the patient's presentation. You can read the whole article on the Peninsula Integrative Medicine website soon.
Recently I have been seeing a rise in younger to middle age people having issues with tachycardia, palpitations, and irregular heart rate. The reasons for this include post covid symptoms, complex health issues such as POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), and MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome), stress and anxiety.
If you have been suffering with this please make an appointment. ๐ ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐ฝ.
