๐ Honoring Our Volunteers on International Volunteer Day ๐
Today, we proudly recognize and thank the extraordinary volunteers who serve across our facilities!
These compassionate individuals are the warm smiles that greet Veterans at the door, the helping hands that guide them to appointments, and the listening ears that offer comfort and connection. Many have dedicated thousands of hours each year, with some volunteering for many, many years, a true testament to their unwavering commitment.
Whether they are Veterans themselves, connected through family, or simply driven by a desire to give back, their impact is immeasurable. ๐
We also extend our deepest gratitude to our Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes, coordinating volunteers, managing donations, and ensuring every act of kindness reaches those who need it most.
Since its founding in 1946, CDCE has grown into one of the largest centralized volunteer programs in the federal government, supported by over 7,400 national and community organizations. Together, volunteers have contributed more than 760 million hours of service and nearly $1.9 billion in gifts and donations.
To every volunteer, thank you. Your dedication uplifts lives and strengthens our mission every single day. ๐บ๐ธ
