There is nothing like a tradition that brings everyone together! 🥚 Residents had an eggcellent time this weekend getting creative for the upcoming holiday. From refined decoupage with dried flowers to fun shaving cream tie dye and the classic dip and dye method, our table was full of color and talent!

Lights, camera, glam! ✨ We had the most glamorous weekend thanks to the incredible student volunteers from the Leo Club of Palos Heights. They brought in professional hair and makeup artists, plus a photographer, for a full day of pampering and private photo shoots. Keep an eye out for our custom magazine covers coming soon!

There is so much hidden beauty in the pages of an old magazine. During our latest creative session, we decided to turn our finished reading materials into beautiful upcycled art! Residents enjoyed an incredibly relaxing afternoon choosing vibrant colors and cutting out shapes to build custom collages. From colorful critters to abstract masterpieces, the results were absolutely incredible. These are just a few examples, as the rest are still a wonderful work in progress!

Things got a beautifully little dirty at our latest Lake Katherine Nature program! Our residents dove right into the fascinating world of nature restoration, learning exactly how Illinois landscapes are preserved through pollination and seed dispersal. To help the cause, we crafted our very own seed bombs! Some will be scattered back into the Lake Katherine preserve, and others will bring a beautiful splash of nature to our own apartment balconies. We simply cannot wait to see what blooms!

Building strong community partnerships brings so much value and joy to our residents. We recently welcomed a wonderful group of Trinity Alumni volunteers for a creative morning of crafting vibrant door hangers. Fostering an environment filled with connection and engaging conversation is exactly what makes our life enrichment programming so successful. We are incredibly grateful for their time and talent!

We love events that spark imagination and excitement. ✨ Our annual Murder Mystery Dinner is coming up, and this year’s theme is Mardi Gras! Residents have been designing custom masks to wear during the dinner, adding a personal touch to the festivities. It is one of the most anticipated nights on our calendar.

After a short winter break, we were thrilled to welcome back Sophie from Lake Katherine! She kicked things off with a focus on groundhogs, beavers, and other rodents native to Illinois. Sophie always knows how to make any topic entertaining while educational, and today was no exception. She brought along a bag of tricks that included furs, skulls, and even a beaver tail for a truly hands-on experience!

Our hallways are looking extra festive today! 💖 The residents embraced the Valentine's spirit by creating charming heart-shaped door hangers to decorate their homes. A big thank you to our Sales Director, Jenny, for leading this heartwarming program and helping us spread love and happiness with every step.

Science confirms what we already knew: happiness is contagious, especially when it has four legs. We love therapy dog visits for the smiles they bring, but we love the health benefits even more. These interactions are proven to lower cortisol and blood pressure while releasing a wave of "feel-good" hormones like oxytocin. It’s a holistic approach to wellness that feels a lot less like medicine and a lot more like joy.

Since we couldn't head to Nevada, we brought the neon lights to our doorstep! 🕺✨

Our residents spent the month "training" for the big floor, mastering the ropes of blackjack and poker. But the real highlight? A special visit from The King himself! Elvis stopped by to thrill the crowd, handing out iconic scarves and teddy bears. 🐻🧣

For the grand finale, we transformed our restaurant into a high-energy casino night featuring craps and roulette.

We hit the jackpot for a good cause. We are proud to announce that we raised over $1,200 for the Alzheimer's Association! 💜 This is just the start of our year-long fundraising journey. Thank you to everyone who played a hand in this success!
