🌸 Spring is right around the corner… which means yard work, gardening, and getting outside again! 🌿
Every year around this time we see a big spike in low back pain from people jumping back into activity after a long winter. A few simple habits can make a huge difference in keeping your back happy this season:
🌱 Ease back into activity – Don’t go from zero to six hours of yard work in one day. Break projects into smaller chunks.
🌱 Lift smart – Bend at the hips and knees, keep the object close to your body, and avoid twisting while lifting.
🌱 Switch positions often – Whether you’re raking, planting, or pulling weeds, change positions every 10–15 minutes so the same muscles aren’t doing all the work.
🌱 Warm up first – A quick walk and a few gentle stretches before starting yard work can go a long way toward preventing injury.
🌱 Get your spine checked – Making sure your joints are moving well before the busy spring season can help your body handle the extra workload.
Spring should be about enjoying the sunshine, not dealing with back pain. ☀️
If your back has been feeling stiff, tight, or just not quite right, now is a great time to get it checked before the busy season kicks in.
Your spine will thank you. 👍
