Tonight is the night most Floridians dread. That time of the year when we lose an hour of daylight. 😢

Don't forget to "Fall Back" by setting your clocks back one hour tonight before you go to bed.

For all of us who will miss that extra hour of daylight, chin up. It will be summertime again before you know it!

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) now recommends that all
women, especially Black and Ashkenazi Jewish women, receive a breast
cancer risk assessment by age 25.

Why? Because early assessment can help determine if you need
screening before age 40.

Average risk? Annual mammograms start at 40.

High risk? You may need to start earlier and screen more often. Early detection saves lives.

Talk to your doctor about your risk.

On this Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor the Seminole Tribe of Florida, also known as the "Unconquered People."

After three wars with the U.S., they never signed a peace treaty, choosing to live in the Everglades to preserve their independence and culture. Their resilience is a powerful testament to their strength.

The Seminole Tribe has continued that strength and spirit and translated it into a thriving community. While many know about their success with Hard Rock, the Seminole Tribe's modern economy is rooted in a diverse range of ventures. From their historic cattle-ranching operations to tourism and cultural preservation, the "Unconquered People" continue to adapt and thrive.

Their communities are vibrant, with modern governments, schools, health services, and cultural events.

They are a living testament to the power of resilience and self-determination.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Did you know that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime? Today, on World Mental Health Day, we stand in solidarity to break the stigma and ensure everyone has access to the support they need.

At Emerald Coast OBGYN, we perform routine mental health screenings as recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and have resources in place to direct those in need to providers who can help.

Your mental health matters.
