This is a way to update all family and friends on how Aurora is doing through her treatments

09/13/2023

At 8:51 on September 12, 2023. Aurora Renè gained her angel wings. She fought so hard till the very end, mama and Daddy were right by her side. She was a blessing that we didn’t know we needed. She taught us to be better people and to be amazing parents. She was the best thing to ever happen to us. She loved so much and was so loved. She is no longer suffering and we know she was greeted with open arms from all her family that was gone before her. She will forever be the light in our lives that guide us through rough times. We love you so much baby girl. Always watch over us and protect us.

We have be trying to figure out the best time put a post out for everyone. On Friday the 25th of August Aurora had some scans done for a routine check up to see what the chemo was doing. They found that her tumors have spread to her liver and she had 3 more smaller tumors that should in her chest area. At that time there was nothingthat they could do at children’s but we asked to have the drs talk to other hospitals and see what they could find. We then got a cal from St. Louis childrens that stated that they had a trial that she may qualify for, and they also have mibg therapy that she could do. We had a meeting with the drs the Tuesday after her scans which she was not feeling very well so we were admitted. While being admitted was when we talked to St. Louis and we planned to have the testing done that needed to be done for her to qualify for the trial. Aurora bad the procedure done on Wednesday to send out for testing to see about the trial. After the procedure she came back very upset and her belly was really swollen from all of the fluids that they had to give her (we were battling her belly being swollen from her admission date). We ended up going to the picu to help with her belly. She started to feel better but her belly was just not letting her get comfortable. This morning she had an episode that caused her blood pressure to drop drastically but they got it back up after some work. Her drs came in to give us a run down of what was going on. With that conversation came that she is too sick to start the trial or get the therapy that she needs. Her safest route is to be put on hospice and to take her home. Which we are doing as soon as we can. We wanted to let everyone know and thank you all for your support and love. And we ask at this time that we do not get calls or messages as we are not ready to talk about things. We love you all thank you for supporting our daughter and loving her so much ❤️

Aurora loves to share everything with her Papa. She is doing so good just hanging out at daycare and seeing her friends, visiting her Mimi and Papa, she got her new swing set put up and loves to go swimming. She is a little water bug. ❤️❤️

Little bit of an update about Aurora. We had scans done on Friday. To see where we are at and what the cancer is doing. It’s been a road of trial and error basically. We have been doing outpatient chemo in the hopes to keep it all stable while we let some things heal after radiation in January. Her scams got read by the doctors very quickly (which is great for us!). Her doctor came and saw us as we were leaving and let us know that on her MRI that it came back with her abdomen cells are stable and unchanged from her last scan which is great and her brain tumors which are down to 2 after her last rounds of chemo one is stable and unchanging and the other one is shrinking some. All of it is amazing news for us. Aurora is literally kicking cancers butt. as of now we will be doing another outpatient round of chemo and then talk with the doctors and see where we want to go from there. Thank you all for the support and love it means so much to us ❤️

Yesterday was an amazing day. Aurora turned 2 and had a great day with her chemo. This week has been a chemo week but it was all outpatient (which we love) we get scans done at the beginning of June to let us know the next route to take, so hoping for good news on that. Today was her last day of chemo for this round but today also marks one year of her being sick. Last year on this day our lives were turned upside down. We got some of the worst news no parent should ever have to get. Aurora has been fighting like hell this past year and has come a very long way. She has grown so much and is still continuing you grow and amaze us all every day. We are so thankful for the support and love we have all received especially Aurora. We can’t thank you all enough for everything. We will continue to fight this terrible disease and come out on top. ❤️

I know it’s been a while since our last update we have been soaking up the chaos that is Aurora! She has been doing absolutely amazing. She had a great Easter and she has finally started walking by herself and thinks she is so independent 😂. We had a rough go in our last chemo round and have determined that we are gonna do some outpatient chemo for a few months. On her last inpatient visit we got to see the surgeon that performed her surgery and Aurora was jumping out of my arms to get to him. She loves him so much. ❤️ We have already started those and they are going great. She had a check up today and she has gained 3 pounds in one week! She’s a little chunk. Her labs are amazing and her doctor even mentioned that her kidney function is the best it has been in months!! We are so blessed with everything that is going on right now. We thank you all so much for the continued prayers and support they really help ❤️

Today we had the scans to tell us how she is doing and what her tumors have been up too. We found out that her tumor in her abdomen or what is left of it is stable and not growing or shrinking which is good news. She had 3 tumors on her brain that were a concern for the team but today it showed that one is stable and not growing or shrinking which is more good news the second one has shrunk some and the third one is no longer there! We got some great news today which is what we all needed right now. We thank you for the prayers and good thoughts as they have helped tremendously and hope that they still do. We love you all ❤️

I know it’s been a while since our last update. We have been in and out of the hospital for this or that and chemo and trying to get better from the chemo. But we go in for scans on Friday which will tell us how well she responded to the radiation and the chemo she has been getting. We are all extremely nervous and anxious. we are all hoping for good results to come and are asking for all the prayers and good thoughts be sent her way for good results. They have worked in the past and are hoping for them to all work know. We appreciate everything. We love you all and hope to have some good news come next week ❤️ here are a few pictures of Aurora over the last few days. she loves her big trucks

We wanted to thank everyone who made it out to the fundraiser. I know Aurora wasn’t feeling the best but you all made it amazing and a night we will never forget 🥰 we ended up having a tummy bug and being admitted into the hospital for a few days and finally got out today. She was such a trooper for the staff and with having to stay there for a bit. We are all so thankful for everyone and all the prayers and support that has been given to us. You all are amazing. Now that she is feeling back to her normal self she is ready to go so be ready for lots of videos of the big girl walking by herself ❤️ but until then here is a video of her feeling so much better in the hospital and playing with her daddy 🥰
