So the chicken watered is super cool and works great BUT… the broke 2 off already.. So Bill put replacements on and refilled half way this time.

When they drink it down, we are going to try putting the barrel up on cinder blocks to see if that will keep the chickens from breaking them.

Also, I found some metals ones we might try them..

Bill made a cool chicken watered for me to try…

The other day we were looking at stuff on the Internet and seen this idea for a chicken water. I ordered the red water cups from Amazon. They even send a drill bit to use, which would be handy for people that don’t have everything they need tool Wise.

I had the white barrel already. Bill cut the top off of it like they showed, then You also cut a 2 inch strip off the barrel after that. The lid fits down on it perfectly then. The reason that you want to do that is so that you can get in to put your water cups on and it makes a great lid. It should be easy to clean the bottom of the barrel with a mop or broom if you are short like me 😂🧹

I should’ve taken pictures as he was doing it, but here is the end result. So far so good. The chicken went right up to it and started to drink the minute he put it in and we filled it with water.

Bill & I (and Butch 🐕🐾) have been super busy today 😎❤️✅

Bill mowed 🚜the area for the elderberries 🎋 rows close to the ground, and we measured, put in a 〰️string line, installed 2 rows of fabric and pinned in down. ✅ Then Bill drilled 30 wholes for me that were 5’ apart so I could plant my elderberry sticks in the moist ground. I didn’t have enough metal stakes for the fabric so we went to the back pasture stash and picked up a few concrete blocks to use for now. It’s 🌬️windy here a lot so our fabric would have been “gone with the wind”! When I have time to go to town for the stakes I’ll get I finished. ✅

Whew, we are both worn out and it’s only 3:00 Feet up, cool drink in hand, relaxing.

The new “Dot” hive is doing well! This weekend I will get in and see if I can find the queen and mark her.

A couple days ago, I replaced the small jar shown here so I had 2 large ones for them.

Last night when Bill took me on our hive inspection journey, they had cleaned up both big jars of sugar water!

I also got a great surprise as Bill mowed a nice path back to the bee yard ❤️
