Due to the approaching weather, out of an abundance of caution, we plan to open our IU Health Bedford, Bloomington, Morgan, Nashville, Spencer and Paoli primary care and specialty offices at 10 am on Friday, weather permitting.

If you have an appointment, we will contact you to arrange a virtual visit or reschedule your appointment.

If you are concerned about your appointment and haven’t heard from anyone, please call that office.

Congratulations to our IU Health Paoli Hospital team for being recognized for the second time by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026 Best Hospitals as a High Performing hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy)!

Are you a smoker or have you quit in the last 15 years? You may be eligible for a mobile lung-screening, and the team is going to be in Orleans, IN, on Thursday, December 18!

If you meet the eligibility requirements below, please contact the mobile lung screening team to schedule an appointment:
• Between the ages of 50-80 (50-77, Medicare)
• 20-pack year smoking history (one pack a day for 20 years or two packs a day for 10 years).
• Currently smoking or have quick smoking in the last 15 years.

Lung cancer screening is easy, with no need for needles, special diet or change of clothes—and it can save your life. Lung screening is covered by insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, if you meet the requirements above.

There were over 150,000 estimated new cases of colorectal cancer in 2024, and early treatment is essential to improving the odds of recovery.

Local forecasts are calling for snow showers and chilly temperatures over the next week, which can lead to ice on pavement and sidewalks.

Take some tips from the penguins and remember to “waddle” to decrease your chances of slipping on ice:
• Shuffle your feet rather than pick them up on sidewalks or roads
• Take smaller steps
• Point your feet slightly out in a V shape
• Keep your hands out of your pockets for balance

Also watch where you walk and avoid “black ice” when possible.
