Pain West Expands with Urgent Care to Strengthen Pain Management Services

Papillion, NE – 9/24/2025– Pain West, Papillion’s trusted pain management clinic, is excited to announce the addition of Urgent Care services at its Pinnacle Drive location. This expansion allows Pain West to care for patients facing sudden injuries and health concerns, while continuing its mission of providing lasting relief from pain.

At the core of Pain West’s care is comprehensive pain management, helping patients address both chronic and acute conditions through personalized treatment plans. Provider Spotlight: Dr. Kevin Balter

At Pain West, our physicians combine advanced training with a commitment to truly listening to patients’ experiences. Dr. Kevin Balter completed his Pain Management Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and his Anesthesiology Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center. His path to pain medicine, however, was shaped by a personal family experience. While in medical school, Dr. Balter witnessed his aunt’s suffering from chronic pain related to Parkinson’s disease—pain that was initially dismissed by her physicians. This experience fueled his dedication to a field of medicine that validates and treats pain as a real and life-altering condition.

Through advanced therapies and compassionate care, Dr. Balter has helped countless patients reclaim their lives from chronic pain. In addition to his clinical practice at Pain West, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine, where he trains future physicians in comprehensive, patient-centered pain care.

Meet Azai! He came to our office for cranial remolding to correct the shape of his skull. We were able to make a significant improvement in a matter of six weeks and he was able to avoid wearing a helmet! His pediatrician is very excited about his progress and so are we!
