We are proud that the successes of our practice have been based upon doing the right things and looking at the big picture for our patients, team, local community and the world in which we live.

We have made the difficult but important decision to defer and reschedule all non-urgent and elective dental procedures until the COVID-19 threat to our community has passed. The current suggested time frame from the governor of Arizona and the American Dental Association is April 30, 2020.

We will still be available to handle serious dental emergencies.

There are more questions than answers right now. I will post updates as they become available. I am involved with organized dentistry at the local, state and national levels and hopefully will have access to information directly from reliable and informed sources.

As the information and science around COVID-19 continues to evolve, the Arizona Dental Association has maintained an ongoing dialogue with the American Dental Association (ADA), Arizona health officials, legislators, and the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners (BODEX). We want to ensure that we are making the best decisions with the information and science available in a well-coordinated manner with other health agencies.

Providing only emergency dental care allows us to care for our most critical patients, while also alleviating the burden that emergency dental care would put on hospitals.

We do not take this decision lightly and it is being done out of an abundance of caution during one of the most disruptive public health emergencies in modern history. As healthcare providers, we all have a role to play by following evidence-based public health advice to help slow the transmission of the virus and "flatten the curve."

We believe that by taking these precautions dentists can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protective equipment critical for emergency dental care and our heroic and selfless frontline healthcare personnel responding to the pandemic.

Thank you so very much for your patience and understanding through this frustrating but temporary challenge that we must address.
