Lancaster County Osteopathic & Integrative Health

Lancaster County Osteopathic & Integrative Health We want to meet you where you are on your health journey, we will help you set health goals, and give you the tools to reach them. What does that Mean?

Those tools include osteopathic treatments, integrative medicine, and other services. At LCOIH we practice Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Integrative Medicine. Our medical director is an Osteopathic physician Dr. Boyer, DO. Dr Eric Lake, DO is also part of the team. At LCOIH, we strive to get people healthy. We value real health by promoting education about simple nutrition, true motion and toxin management. We empower people with good sound information and help them make great choices. The body was created to heal itself. In order for that to happen 3 things need to be in place. 1. Your body needs to be moving well. This means how you are moving your body through exercise, but also how your insides move. As Osteopathic Physicians we learn how the whole body moves including: The spine, head, brain and internal organs like your liver.2. You need to lower your burden of toxins. Toxins can mean a lot of different things. Bacteria, foods, stress and some medications can serve as toxins to your body. We need to remove those or manage them.3. You need the proper nutrition. We teach people that eating real/ whole foods mean eating organic, non-GMO and minimally processed foods.

Use these two rules:
1. Is it a color of the rainbow? 2. Is it alive? This way Cheetos don’t count. Phytonutrients are the chemicals that plants produce that creates their color. Our bodies know how to use those phytonutrients to keep us healthy. When we talk about nutrition there are macronutrients (carbs, protein, fats), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and phytonutrients. But to simplify, follow these two rules.

What I saw recently during a trip along the Nile River was a powerful metaphor for modern chronic disease.

Standing beside something that has sustained human civilization for thousands of years forces reflection on how dramatically our health landscape has shifted in just a few decades.

The systems we have engineered, from food production and agriculture to industrial output, are shaping metabolic health, brain health, and long-term disease risk in ways we are only beginning to fully understand.

I shared more about this experience and what it may mean for our collective health on my blog: https://drperlmutter.com/nile-reveals-modern-metabolic-health/

Why you should think about seeing one of the Riehl health coaches here at our office?

What is Riehl health coaching. Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievement gain slowly over time. This is a quote from John Maxwell and I think that it resonates true. Real health coaching is a partnership that provides structure, accountability expertise, motivation, and celebrating when goals are met.
