This is more horrifying news for children….imagine you are pregnant and become unknowingly infected with hep b…or you testing is wrong and you have a false negative result…or you somehow don’t have adequate prenatal care …or you are Infected with hep b. Protocols giving the Hep B vaccine within 24 hours of birth helps to protect these babies from getting infected and suffering the consequences of this horrible disease. As a pediatrician, I have seen postnatal vaccination and treatment work and hope that we can continue to help mothers protect their babies
