Do you feel a constant stress in your gut ? Does it hurt and rumble, like an overblown balloon that is ready to pop?
At some point you may have got fed up, and decided to visit a physician who sent you to the gastroenterologist to help you with your gut wrenching issue. She put you through a series of tests, lab work and scoping procedures.
The real problem began for you at the moment that your tests came out absolutely normal!
You changed your diet, got medications but nothing seemed to make you feel better. Then you finally got a diagnosis : IBS…
“Now what? I feel incredibly sick, but my doctor told me that I am healthy and that there is nothing that can be done for me!” You tell this to yourself, feeling lost in frustration.
The good news is - there are some alternative solutions, and they all have to do with…
STRESS RELIEF!
There are plenty of choices:
Belly breathing
Mindfulness meditation
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
Hypnosis/Self hypnosis and many more.
Not many GI doctors are aware of these tools, because these techniques are barely taught in medical schools, so it isn’t something they know about or discuss with their patients.
Hypnosis protocols and cognitive behavioral therapy, used in America and some European countries, showed significant improvements in the symptoms of IBS and the general quality of life in many patients.
I understand that many people feel uneasy hearing about hypnosis however…
What if you look at hypnosis as a tool, in which you enter a state of trance that has a healing effect. When you binge watch Netflix until 3 am, or arrive at your destination without being aware of how you got there, or read a book and the time flies by - you experience… the trance state.
So what is hypnosis for IBS? It is when you sit in a comfortable place, listen to spoken words and train yourself to relax and be at ease. Next, you continue practicing at home every day, in order relax some more.
Your stress gradually diminishes and releases it’s grip on your gut. Over time, your gut gets much healthier, and your general state of well being increases as well.
What if you could learn to approach life’s challenges with inner peace, and calm thoughts? What if you were able to control your emotions in a way that is beneficial to your health?
You may benefit from either CBT or hypnosis, or you could learn how to use both. What I know for sure, is that both of these tools are effective. I am trained in hypnosis and have Dr. Palsson’s North Carolina protocol that has proven to bring measurable relief to patients with IBS. I am ready to share it if you are interested.
