Rare diseases affect millions — yet many remain misunderstood.

Today is Rare Disease Day, and we’re taking a moment to shine a light on Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) — a rare and severe form of epilepsy that often begins in childhood and can bring daily challenges for individuals and families alike.

Awareness matters. Understanding LGS helps strengthen support for families, caregivers and the broader epilepsy community — and helps the science needed to improve care.

The LGS Foundation offers education, resources and connection for families navigating this journey. Learn more and find support: https://www.lgsfoundation.org

On Rare Disease Day, we stand with the LGS community — and with everyone working to bring greater understanding, research and hope to rare conditions.

When a seizure happens, uncertainty can put people at risk. A seizure action plan provides clear, individualized guidance so caregivers, families and care teams know how to respond when it matters most.

During Seizure Action Plan Awareness Week, we’re supporting preparedness and safety alongside the Seizure Action Plan Coalition and its Managing Organization, Epilepsy Alliance America, reinforcing the importance of planning for real-world moments of care.

We’re proud to support initiatives that help people in the epilepsy community grow, lead, and thrive.

Programs like this reflect our belief in connecting health and happiness — because supporting people goes beyond treatment. It’s about creating opportunities, amplifying lived experiences, and helping individuals turn their journeys into impact for others.

Congratulations, Drew, on this exciting step. We’re inspired by your commitment to making a difference and are cheering you on during your time with CURE Epilepsy.

Join us in welcoming Drew Conlee, a 2026 Community Enrichment Program intern! Drew has personally dealt with epilepsy since age 12, and this internship helps him reach his ultimate goal of making a difference for others in the epilepsy community.

Drew looks forward to working hands-on with all CURE Epilepsy teams, so that he can level up his advocacy and make the world a better place for people with epilepsy and beyond.

Drop him a 👋 to say hello and thank you to SK Life Science, Inc. for their generous support of this program!

Today is International Epilepsy Day, a day which highlights how much work remains to improve the understanding of epilepsy. Despite being one of the world’s oldest known medical conditions, misconceptions and discrimination continue to affect daily life for many people living with epilepsy, often in ways that extend beyond seizures.

For organizations committed to epilepsy, awareness and education remain essential. Efforts led by the Epilepsy Foundation of America, among others, continue to support greater understanding of epilepsy and its impact on individuals, families and communities.

During National Patient Recognition Week, we recognize the people living with serious neurological and cancer-related conditions whose experiences should shape what progress looks like.

At SK Life Science, Inc., that perspective keeps our science centered on real needs and reinforces our sense of purpose as we build for the future.
