I just wanted to reach out to all of my amazing clients, friends, and family.
I often encourage each of you to listen to your bodies, to rest, and to take care of yourselves—but like many caregivers, I don’t always follow my own advice. As most of you know, I live with rheumatoid arthritis. It’s fairly severe, and I tend to minimize it because giving in to it can feel like failure—failure to you, to my family, and to myself. I know in my heart that isn’t true. I know I’m human. But there was a season in my life when I truly feared I might never again be able to do what I love most: taking care of others; body, soul and mind.
And not just in the aesthetic world—but every world I live in. My children. My grandchildren. My family. My patients. My girls.
For the past few months, my body had been giving me signs—then screaming at me—that I needed to slow down. I didn’t listen until I saw the fear and pleading in my sister’s eyes. She knows me well enough to recognize when I’ve pushed beyond any limit possible.
I’m currently admitted at Medical City, and I want to reassure everyone that I’m in good hands. That daughter of mine made sure of that!
My kidneys are doing great. My nephrologist was thrilled!
My rheumatoid arthritis, however, is flaring significantly, and we’re making some adjustments. I’m praying I’ll be released tomorrow.
I’m reminded in this season of the truth found in Scripture:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
That includes resting when I need to, trusting the process, and allowing others to care for me the way I so often care for them.

Please know—if you can’t get ahold of me, I am not ignoring you. I’ve been ordered to rest (which I’m finally listening to). You can always call the office between 10am–6pm, and my team will help you with anything you need.
