After talking about burnout at work, one thing became even clearer: mental health in the workplace deserves its own conversation.

Mental health at work matters.

We spend so much of our lives at work, and the environments we step into each day can deeply affect our emotional well-being. Stress, pressure, and feeling unsupported can quietly follow people home long after the workday ends.

Your well-being is just as important as your work performance. When workplaces create space for support, understanding, and open conversation, everyone benefits.🤍

Burnout at work can sneak in quietly. One long week turns into another, and before you know it, your spark starts feeling a little dim.

I was invited to speak at a couple community events recently - we discussed preventing burnout as well as mental health in the workplace and what it actually looks like day to day, and the other was centered around mental health in the workplace from an employer perspective. Both conversations pointed back to the same truth: this matters, and it affects everyone.

In this post, I’m sharing 5 ways to help prevent burnout at work. And this is just the beginning. Over the next week, we’ll be sharing more of what we learned, the conversations that were had, and why creating healthier workplaces should be something we all care about.

Because when people feel supported, everything changes. ✨

We live in a world where there is always something happening. Something new to read, something urgent to watch, something that asks for our attention. Staying informed is important, but there is a quiet line where awareness can turn into anxiety.

When we take in everything all the time, it can begin to shape our thoughts, our mood, and even the way we move through our day. The weight of the world was never meant to sit on your shoulders 24 7.

You are allowed to stay aware without being overwhelmed. You are allowed to step back, take a breath, and give your mind space to rest.

Pay attention to what you are taking in today. Notice how it makes you feel. Choose to protect your peace while still staying informed.

For all of history, we’ve only seen one side of the moon.

The same view. The same perspective. The familiar.

But Artemis II is stepping beyond that. Choosing to see something different.

And honestly… we do the same thing in our own lives. We stay where it’s comfortable. We assume what we’ve always seen is all there is.

That’s a fixed mindset.

Growth starts when you look again. When you challenge what you know. When you step outside what feels safe.

There is always another side.

So today, think about where you might be stuck in the familiar.

What could open up for you if you allowed yourself to see it differently?

Your future is shaped not by tomorrow but by the moments you embrace today.

Every small step counts: take a moment for reflection or journaling, reach out to someone who inspires you, practice gratitude, or simply slow down and breathe.

Start today, and let each intentional action guide you closer to the person you are becoming and the life you are creating.

Trust in the process, honor the present, and embrace the power you hold in each mindful choice.🤍

This weekend holds both the hard and the hopeful.

Good Friday reflects the weight of pain - the confusion, grief, and trauma of loss.

For many, this weekend also holds deep meaning in remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus - a story of suffering, redemption, and hope.

In therapy, we see people walking through difficult seasons and slowly finding their way back to themselves. We see wounds begin to heal and lives being restored.

Easter reminds us that renewal and transformation is still possible.💛

Wishing you and your family peace and hope this Easter!🌿

Feeling left out or judged? Your brain lights up the same neural circuits as it would if you stubbed your toe.

Science shows our brains treat social connection as essential for survival because, evolutionarily, being part of a group kept us safe.

Therapy helps retrain these neural pathways, so rejection hurts less and connection feels safer.🧠💗
