For National Sleep Awareness Week 2026 (March 8–14), experts recommend curbing caffeine consumption in the afternoon—ideally stopping by noon, or at least 6–8 hours before bed—to prevent sleep disruption.

Tips for Success

💙The 6-Hour Rule: Consuming caffeine within 6 hours of bedtime can reduce sleep efficiency.

♥️Hidden Caffeine: Be aware that chocolate, kombucha, and some sodas contain caffeine.

💛Slow Transition: If you are a heavy coffee drinker, try switching to decaf in the afternoon for a week to ease into the change.

Women’s History Month began as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California. The Education Task Force of the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women planned and executed a “Women’s History Week” celebration in 1978.

In 1980, a consortium of women’s groups and historians—led by the National Women’s History Project (now the National Women's History Alliance)—successfully lobbied for national recognition. In February 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first Presidential Proclamation declaring the Week of March 8th 1980 as National Women’s History Week.

World Hearing Day is a campaign on March 3rd every year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and to promote ear and hearing care across the world. Studies show 15.2% to nearly 20% of adolescents (12-19) have some form of hearing loss.

Also, nearly 50% of teenagers listen to music at unsafe levels, and even mild hearing loss can cause a child to miss 50% of classroom instruction. It's important to be aware of how hearing can impact people's lives, and you should try your best to take care of your ears/hearing.

February is American Heart Month!

Did you know about 2,200 Americans die each day from heart conditions and cardiovascular diseases? That’s about one every 40 seconds.

Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives than all forms of cancer combined.

American Heart Month is an excellent time to teach your family and friends that cardiovascular disease can often be prevented by making healthy choices and properly managing their existing health conditions.

Sharing this information is important because about 80% of cardiovascular disease can be prevented by taking control and following everyday healthy living steps that include:

❤️not smoking
❤️physical activity
❤️good nutrition
❤️maintaining healthy weight
❤️controlling blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose levels

This American Heart Month, love your heart and yourself. Take steps to get your heart health in check and inspire someone in your life to do the same.
