One of the first questions I ask in a newborn consult:
“Was your baby holding their head up right after birth?”
Most parents light up…
“My baby was SO strong!”
But from a pediatric chiropractic standpoint, that’s actually an orange flag 🚩
Holding their head up before ~4 weeks can point to increased tension in the neck and nervous system — which can show up as:
• Latching challenges
• Feeding discomfort
• Head tilts or preference
• Early stress on the nervous system
This hit close to home for me ❤️
After my daughter’s birth, I noticed early head control, a head tilt, and painful latching. As both a mom and chiropractor, I knew tension was playing a role.
We focused on gently supporting her body:
✨ Upper cervical + thoracic adjustments
✨ Sacral work
✨ Releasing tension through the mouth + neck
Day by day, things improved:
Less pain. Better latch. More ease.
By 6 weeks… everything resolved.
No revision needed 🙌
Here’s the key:
Before jumping to procedures, you have to address the neuromuscular tension first.
Because when the nervous system is supported, babies can function the way they were designed to 🤍
If your baby is struggling with feeding, tension, or sleep…
There may be more to the story.
We’re here to help you find it.
