The Banya is a combination of dry Finnish sauna, and damp Roman bath. In the banya, the client lies down and allows the body to relax. The temperature is slowly increased as the Therapist pours small amounts of water over the hot rocks. Essential oils are added to the water, not only to create a pleasant aroma, the oils have been chosen for their healing and detoxifying qualities. Once the client starts to perspire, the therapist takes whisks of oak leaves, warms them over the hot rocks, and starts to lightly tap, stroke, and brush the body. This helps bring circulation up to the skin, and releases deep deeply stored toxins. Then the body is coated with honey. The honey is used as an antiseptic and for nourishment of the skin. A cool splash of water followed by a quick rinse in the shower and you’ll be ready for a calm, peaceful massage by one of our talented Therapists.
