On Sunday December 21st, I attended Last Chance Arts & Crafts Sale and Entertainment in Mesa, AZ.

This event had over 70 different vendors and had many performances throughout the night. I was invited to introduce myself to all attendees and was able to participate in some of the social dancing! It was so much fun learning about different cultures both inside and outside of the country and to see them all beautifully represented. While there I also was able to pick up a few more Christmas gifts for family and friends. The night ended with a receiving line for the kids that were in attendance to take home some goodies.

I want to thank the event organizers and volunteers for inviting me to such a fun event! Whether it was looking around at the vendors or watching the entertainment on stage everyone had such a great time! Sapo!

Yá’át’ééh! This is First Attendant Chloe Eskey sharing a meaningful academic milestone. 💜

This past Wednesday, Dec. 17th, I had the honor of participating in both my College of Global Futures convocation and the American Indian Celebration Ceremony as I completed my Master’s degree in Global Technology and Development (Applied International Development). 👩🏻‍🎓🎉

I chose this field of study because I believe technology, when guided by community voices and cultural values, can be a powerful tool for equity. My applied research focused on healthcare access, sustainability, and technology-enabled solutions for Indigenous and underserved communities. This work directly influenced my Miss Indian Arizona platform, “Advocating for cultural preservation through community-based Indigenous health education,” and reflects my commitment to ensuring that education and innovation are rooted in culture, lived experience, and community needs.

As a first-generation student and the youngest in my family to earn a master’s degree, this milestone carries deep meaning. It reflects the generations before me who made this possible and the responsibility I carry moving forward. I hope to use this education to contribute to health policy advocacy and cross-cultural dialogue, working toward systems that center Indigenous voices and community-informed solutions. This degree represents one step in a longer journey of learning, service, and leadership.

Congratulations to all graduates at ASU and beyond who reached this milestone, and ahéhee’ to everyone who walked alongside me on this journey 🫶🏼✨

On December 16th, I attended the D6 Christmas Storytelling & Hot Cocoa event in Gila River, where I was asked to read “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”

It was so much fun meeting all the families that were in attendance as well as reading one of my favorite Christmas time stories. After the book was finished hot cocoa and small snacks were served! I want to thank District Six Recreation for inviting me and letting me be apart of such a fun Christmas activity for families. Sapo!

On December 13th, I attended the S’edav Va’aki Museum Indian Market where I provided the welcome and shared a talent with attendees.

It was such a fun time being able to welcome everyone to the market as well as seeing all the performances that took place throughout the day. This was my first time attending the museum and overall it was a day filled with appreciation for indigenous creators.

I would like to thank the S’edav Va’aki Museum Indian Market coordinators and volunteers for inviting me and allowing me to be apart of such a great event. I would also like to express my gratitude for allowing me to share my culture with all those in attendance. Sapo!

Skeg Tas everyone! I hope you all had a lovely and safe weekend! On Saturday evening, I attended the SRPMIC Holiday Light Parade where I served as the Grand Marshall! It was so much fun to see all the creativity and effort that went into each parade entry. Being able to spread some holiday cheer this winter was amazing and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

On Sunday morning, I attended the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony held at the USS AZ Memorial Gardens. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with tradition and honor as we remember those that made sacrifices to keep our country safe during World War II. I was honored to be in attendance for the ceremony and to meet veterans from all of our surrounding communities.

I want to thank SRPMIC Community Relations Office for giving me the opportunity to serve as the 2025 Grand Marshall. I would also like to thank for putting on such a special ceremony and for inviting me to be apart of it. Sapo!

Skeg Tas! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with family, friends, and loved ones. On Monday, I attended the Salt River Community Children’s Foundation 22nd Annual Golf Classic held at Talking Stick Golf Course where I was asked to provide the opening blessing.

The Salt River Community Children’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims to help fund Salt River youth in different areas like education, health, special needs, art and culture, and youth leadership. The annual golf classic is a fundraising event for SRCCF that helps to continue to provide opportunities for community youth. I greeted attendees as they arrived and was able to provide the opening blessing for the tournament. Also in attendance were SRPMIC organizations like Discover Salt River and Salt River Police Department. A highlight for attendees was when Salt River Fire Department did the ball drop for the 50/50 raffle. After the small program was finished SRFD also gave me the opportunity to take a trip up in their ladder!

I want to thank for inviting me and allowing me to take part in such a special event for our community’s youth. Sapo!

This Saturday, I had the honor of representing the Miss Indian Arizona Court in the Winslow Christmas Parade. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with the Little Singer Community School Royalty, the school I attended as a child, and to see my former principal, who continues to strengthen cultural teachings within the educational system. Moments like these remind me how deeply our communities shape us and influence the leaders we become.

A special thank you to Mayor Berdie Cano for the invitation and warm welcome. I’ve attended this parade since I was little, so being able to walk in it as part of the Miss Indian Arizona Association was truly an unforgettable experience. ✨

Even though Sialik and Hannah were unable to attend this event, I’m proud to represent our Miss Indian Arizona Court and carry our collective message of leadership and cultural pride. I look forward to more opportunities for us to attend parades and community events together throughout our year. ♥️💙💛

Ahé’hee’ to my family for helping prepare my float and for standing beside me throughout the parade. Your support, hard work, and love make moments like this possible.

Skeg Tas everyone! It has been a busy past week so I wanted to share with you the events that the Miss Indian Arizona court have attended!

Last Friday afternoon I attended the UNITY Earth Ambassadors Gathering held at SRPMIC Council Chambers where I was asked to be apart of a panel to speak to the youth about tribal leadership and its connection to our environment. It was so great to be able to meet with youth from all over the state and to see the leadership that they already hold in their own communities.

Then last Saturday evening the Miss Indian Arizona court attend Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience held at Scottsdale Museum of the West where we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to attendees and speak about our roles as cultural ambassadors. We then visited all of the stations and were able to try different foods from all the chefs that were highlighted.

Then on Wednesday evening, Miss Indian Arizona 1st attendant Chloe Eskey and myself attended the Arizona American Indian Excellence in Leadership Awards ceremony held at the Heard Museum. It was such a great night recognizing indigenous leadership from different ages, backgrounds, and tribal nations. Congratulations to all of those that were awarded.

Lastly on Saturday morning, I attended the SRPMIC Thanksgiving Celebration held in the Two Waters Courtyard. This was such a special event to share a meal with our community members and to cherish all the blessings in our lives. From family bingo to turkey calling contests to dancing it was such a fun time!

We want to thank all of the organizations that invited us to these events as we had such a special time connecting with everyone. Sapo!

On Thursday evening I attended Multicultural Night at Legacy Traditional School - North Chandler.

Multicultural night was an event to celebrate the many cultures that make up Legacy Traditional School’s student body. Students upon arriving were able to pick up a “passport” and visit the different countries that were highlighted in each classroom. It was a great night celebrating the different cultures around the world and it was amazing to see the students dressed in their cultural wear. I want to thank Legacy Traditional School for inviting me as it was fun to participate in the different activities, try different snacks, and learn more about each country. Sapo!

On Sunday morning, I attended the Phoenix10k marathon event where I was asked to provide a land acknowledgement before the different races. I was able to introduce myself and provide the land acknowledgement to all those that attended and took part in the different races. Thank you to Matriarch Movement for inviting me and giving me this privilege.

On Monday morning, I attended Ida Redbird day at Ida Redbird Elementary where I was asked to speak at their pep assembly and lead an activity with the students.

Ida Redbird Day is a day to showcase the many cultures that make up their student body. They started the morning with a fashion show as students had the opportunity to wear their cultural attire. Then I had the pleasure of introducing myself to all the students and explaining what my role is as a cultural ambassador for the state of Arizona. My platform is “Promoting Cultural Learning in our Youth through Traditional Singing and Dancing” so as an activity to get everyone up and moving I invited the students to participate in our form of social dancing! I was so happy to be able to share our culture with the students and they had a fun time.

I want to thank Ida Redbird Elementary for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to share a bit of myself and my culture. I would also like to thank my singer Bowie Leonard for taking the time to join me in showcasing our traditional singing and dancing. Sapo!

Yá’át’ééh! First Attendant Chloe Eskey checking in with a weekend recap from my home community and beyond ✨

This past Friday, Miss Indian Arizona Sialik King and I had the honor of attending the Winslow High School Mr. & Miss Native American Pageant. As Winslow is my home community, this invitation meant so much to me. While I didn’t attend WHS myself, my family is full of proud WHS alumni, so supporting their Native American Club events felt like coming home in the best way. Their dedication plays such an important role in strengthening cultural resilience among our Native youth.

The participants showcased impressive language skills in their self-introductions and shined throughout their talent presentations. Hearing the outgoing Mr. WHS royalty reflect with gratitude as he passed on his title was a beautiful reminder of the power of youth leadership.

On Saturday, Sialik and I continued our travels to the Southwest Navajo Royalty Pageants in Dilkon, AZ, followed by the San Carlos Veterans Powwow. In Dilkon, the contestants carried themselves with pride and confidence as they shared their teachings, language, and leadership.

Later that evening, we joined community members in San Carlos to honor the dedication and service of our Native veterans. The songs, dances, and prayers shared in gratitude were powerful reminders of the strength and sacrifice of those who have protected our homelands.

Ahéhee’ to all the organizers, families, veterans, and community members who welcomed us so warmly throughout the weekend. Your commitment to uplifting culture, youth, and community leadership continues to strengthen our Nations.

It was also wonderful seeing other royalty at each event, each representing their communities with such confidence and pride. We look forward to future encounters and opportunities to support one another.

Lastly, congratulations to the newly crowned royalty of Winslow High School and the Southwest Navajo Community—may your year be filled with purpose, growth, and cultural advocacy.

Wishing everyone safe travels.
Ahéhee’ 🤍
