According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, regular walking helps lower blood sugar, improves insulin sensitivity, supports heart health, and reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications. Walking also helps manage blood pressure and cholesterol, which are key risk factors for heart disease.

Since February is American Heart Month, it's a perfect time to focus on simple movement habits that support both heart and metabolic health.

We invite you to join our walk/run this Saturday, which is open to the community. All fitness levels are welcome, and walking at your own pace is encouraged.

Every step matters. Let’s move together for better health.

January is a time to reset, reconnect, and take care of our whole health, mind, and body together. Managing stress, getting enough sleep, and staying active all play a role in improving mental wellness and blood sugar control.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic stress can raise blood glucose levels and increase the risk of diabetes complications. Small daily habits like light movement, good sleep, and social connection can make a big difference.

This month, we encourage our community to focus on:
• Gentle movement
• Restful sleep
• Stress reduction
• Healthy daily routines

Taking care of your mental health is an important step toward long-term physical wellness.
