Why does Amanda, our Occupational Therapist, love working with Neuro patients? 🧠

This Valentine’s Day, I’m thinking about the incredible resilience I see every day. 💪

Working with neurological patients isn't just about rehab, medicine, or regaining motor skills—it’s about witnessing the unwavering human spirit.
It’s teaching a patient to walk again after a stroke, celebrating a small motor milestone, and helping families find hope in the hardest chapters of their lives. It requires deep patience, immense creativity, and constant compassion.❤️

I fall in love with this work when I see the "aha!" moment when a connection re-forms, and when I see the pride in a patient’s eyes when they achieve something they thought was impossible. 🧠💪

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my patients and colleagues in the trenches of healing. You are the reason I love what I do. 💚

Why "Just Moving" Isn't Enough:

The Power of Task-Specific Intensity 💡

Physical Therapy isn't just about exercises; it’s about neuroplasticity—rewiring the brain and body for function. To get real results, we focus on two core pillars:

1️⃣ Task-Specific Practice: To get better at walking, you must walk. To improve reaching, you must reach. We train the exact movements you need for daily life.

2️⃣ High Intensity: Repetition alone isn't enough. We need high-repetition, high-intensity training to drive cortical reorganization and build lasting strength.
"Active, task-specific, high-repetition, high-intensity interventions are the foundation of evidence-based rehab".

Stop just going through the motions. Let’s make every session count toward your goals. 🏋️‍♂️💪
