🚨 Awareness Post: 7-OH Kratom (7-Hydroxymitragynine)

We’re seeing a growing number of issues connected to 7-OH Kratom, a highly concentrated and potent derivative often marketed as “natural” or “legal,” but behaving much closer to an opioid. And it’s available at most v**e shops. Especially in WV as it hasn’t been banned there yet.

Here are 5 signs someone may be using 7-OH Kratom 👇

1️⃣ Rapid mood swings
Unusual irritability, agitation, or emotional highs and lows that don’t match the situation.

2️⃣ Pinpoint pupils or glassy eyes
Especially noticeable during conversations or in normal lighting.

3️⃣ Sedation followed by stimulation
Periods of nodding off, followed by restlessness or anxiety as it wears off.

4️⃣ Gastrointestinal issues
Nausea, constipation, stomach pain, or sudden appetite changes.

5️⃣ Withdrawal-like symptoms between use
Sweating, chills, anxiety, body aches, insomnia, or irritability when doses are missed.

⚠️ Important:
7-OH Kratom is far stronger than traditional kratom leaf and carries a real risk of dependence, especially for individuals with a history of substance use.

If you or someone you love is struggling, help is available. Awareness saves lives. Silence doesn’t.

📍 If you’re unsure what you’re seeing, trust your instincts and ask questions.
🤍 Compassion first. Love always.

Some days this work follows me home. The faces the stories the prayers don’t shut off when the shift ends. Working in substance abuse reaches deep into your mind your spirit and even your body. It’s holy work but it’s heavy work too. Balance matters because burnout helps no one. I have to give it back to God daily and trust Him with what my heart can’t hold alone. If you work in this field you’re not weak for feeling it you’re human and you’re called.

George Gaston this was a great conversation.

High on Hope Ministries is a non profit organization that has set out to show the world freedom over addiction through Jesus.

High on Hope was founded by Tim Craft who was addicted to he**in for 12 years. Tim was approached by a close friend of his in the depths of his addiction and given the opportunity to go into Eddie James Ministries in 2014. Tim knew that the time had come to get help, prompted strongly by the death of his sister due to an accidental overdose.

While Tim was with Eddie, he learned and studied the Bible and learned how to really be free. He learned the importance of renewing your mind and being set apart from the world. He spent a year with Eddie James traveling the world and sharing his testimony. In 2015, Eddie James Ministries landed in Parkersburg and launched the Dreamlife program, an extension of Eddie James Ministries. Dreamlife was a one-year faith-based recovery program. Tim was the director of the Dreamlife program in Parkersburg. Discovering that there was a need for unity amongst the churches and the recovery community in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Tim launched High on Hope in 2017. The vision for High on Hope was and still is to connect resources and network with other ministries and initiatives to be sure that anyone seeking help will be able to get the help they need. Going out with local law enforcement and first responders, holding recovery events to keep the community informed and engaged, and holding weekly overcoming addiction classes are just a few of the efforts in place within High on Hope to serve and equip the community. High on Hope relies solely on donations to be able to operate.

High on Hope has partnered with Land of Goshen treatment center and has opened a long-term faith-based residential treatment program for men in Malta, Ohio. Land of Goshen has a long-term faith-based residential treatment program for women in Ironton, Ohio that is also partnered with High on Hope. Anytime someone reaches out seeking treatment, High on Hope will work hard to make sure that we find the best fit for the person needing help. Whether it be at one of our own facilities or one of the facilities we have established relationships with, we do our best to get people placed into treatment. The High on Hope hotline number is 1(833)-HOH- FREE for anyone seeking treatment. We also offer transportation to treatment. These services are also funded solely by donation.
