After becoming mothers my sister and I began to take a closer look at what was really in the products that we were using on a regular if not daily basis on our loved ones, as well as ourselves. We chose to follow a more natural way of life and practice cautions when it came to what we ingest and put on our skin. In doing so we have created hand crafted products that use actually plant properties to achieve the same great look, feel and smell as synthetic skin care product. The use of these all natural skin care products not only benefit your skin, they go much deeper then that because when absorbed into the body they promote a vase variety of health benefits to the mind, body and spirit. All the ingredients that go into our product are organic of wild harvest, and eco-friendly and selected with purpose and intent by my sister and I to ensure that we always use ingredients that meet our standards of natural care. The Natural Sisterhood does it’s best to not include the use of any ingredients that contain GMOs, synthetics, parabens, or pthalates, and make it our personal mission to use ingredients from all natural and organic sources. In doing so we strive to provide you with products that provide the unconditional love of Mother Nature.

This past week has brought many calls and visits about allergies. I always start with NETTLE. It has so many benefits that I thought it deserved a post. 💓

🌿 Beautiful Nettles (Urtica dioica) has been used as food, medicine, and fiber for thousands of years. As one of the first wild greens to emerge in the forest each spring, the leaves are gently cleansing and deeply nutritive. Rich in minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and chlorophyll, Nettle is truly a nutritive powerhouse.

The leaves have a mild mineral salt taste that makes them easy to incorporate into food once cooked. Added to soups, stews, or prepared as tea, they offer deep nourishment after the long winter months.

Medicinally, Nettle leaf has strong affinities for the kidneys, urinary tract, blood, and upper respiratory tract. It acts as a nutritive tonic, alterative, and aquaretic, helping to flush excess fluids while replenishing essential minerals. It is also helpful for allergies, inflammatory skin conditions, anemia, and general nutrient deficiencies.

As the plant matures through summer it offers another gift in its seeds, a powerful medicine for the kidneys and adrenals. In autumn, the roots can be harvested for prostate health and the stalks used for strong plant fibers.

So many gifts come from this one plant. It is no wonder nettle has been revered for centuries.

My partner in crime is on vacay for a couple weeks. 😩

What started out as a passion hobby for us in 2014 and has grown tremendously! We couldn’t be happier. We now have our own Brick and Mortar store on Main street in Parkston. April is a Certified Aromatherapist and just started her journey into Master Herbalism. Beth is our makeup guru and quality control girl who will soon be joining April in the Herbalism world soon.
