This sweet kid was having a rough day. The teacher said he was upset but we didn't know why. He spent the first half of the class in the corner, kicking anything that was around him and making grunting noises. We all tried talking to him but it didn't help.

It wasn't until I sat on the ground and drew a simple spiral that he showed interest. I asked him if he wanted to draw his own and he did right away on the back side of the paper.

I asked him if he wanted to color and he said yes. We colored it together and he was focused on it the rest of the class. We moved to the table and chairs when he didn't like the bugs on the floor.

He let me take the photos at the end and showed a very small smile. It was amazing for me to see such a shift in him simply drawing and coloring together.

I've been working with Art with a Heart
whose mission is to enhance the lives of people in need through visual art. This is where I met the boy in this story and photos.

I have been receiving ‘a poem a day in the month of may’ from and the first day was on sustainability.

Yesterday I took some time to create a meta drawing with this intention and the above drawing is what emerged. First, a large seed shape reminding me of a striped sunflower seed. Then two more standing on either of its sides, reminding me of the power of three.

Then a field emerged behind these beauties, a landscape in sight if you are sitting on the ground amidst the three large seeds, which now told me they were corn stalk seeds. A field of seeds asked to be drawn under a large sun, stretching out beyond. Finally, a small moon on the left, and another smaller sun on the right hand corner. It told me, “Paint me in greens and yellows.” So I did.

Here is the poem that I wrote after I drew and painted:

Sustainability is a sacred seed
The growing of plants and corn
Sustenance for our earthly bodies
And a giving back to the source of this
Sustenance.

Sustainability is a
Deepening of the
Roots underground
The rows and rows of fields of plenty
Able to feed all who are hungry.

Sustainability is a cycle of
Growth, death, rebirth
The generations before and the
Generations after us
Who will be the recipients of our
Intentions of sustainability
To sustain
To give sustenance to all.

Because until all are fed
There will always be someone who is hungry.
May we all be fed by the
Rays of sunshine
The groves of corn and beans and fruits and veggies
And may we bless and feel blessed by this
Amazing circle of life.

This is my metacognitive drawing from last week’s Healing Arts Class with ‘gentleness’ as my intention word. It reminds me of a lake, protected by layers of trees. As I drew it, I could tap into the feeling of a still lake on a spring morning. I wrote:

Gentleness is a strength
It is a space of welcome
A place of open
A nook of safety and softness

This reminds me to continue to be gentle with myself and others. How can I soften just a tad more into my heart and body?

I have truly enjoyed giving the Healing Arts classes. And there are many shifts and changes occurring within me and also in my life.

This is an announcement that tomorrow will be the last Healing Arts class. If you want to join, I’d love to see you! LINK in comments.

In terms of what is to come, I am taking a break from teaching online so that I can focus on in-person teaching and other non-profit work in my local community in Baltimore. I’m sure I’ll be back, but I’m also evaluating how I want to teach and share these practices moving forward.

If you have attended one of these classes, I want to say Thank YOU! Your presence has been appreciated and contributed to the class simply by you being a part of it.

Other resources include my self-led courses. I am also updating my website and my smaller courses like the Soul Seed Project and Galaxy Painting will be available again soon. Stay tuned!

Big hugs and blessings to you ❤

This meta drawing started with the inquiry "All the parts" and ended up revealing a cosmic egg shaped friendly looking giant or monster. The message for me is: All parts are needed, valuable and have information for us. Even if they feel scary sometimes.

On another note, I've been busy doing more things off line than I have in a while and I'm excited to say I'll be working with an amazing non profit whose mission is to "enhance the lives of people in need through art."

Other projects are in the works and it feels good to be focusing on supporting my community here in Baltimore.

But I'm also still loving the online Healing Arts classes. We meet tomorrow at 5 pm EST if you'd like to join us! Link in comments

Many blessings to you! 💙

'Blooming Cosmic Rose' meta drawing from a workshop I did with my dear friend Maria's Heart Song Coaching year long program. It was a joy to sit with them, create and draw from our hearts as we explored the different aspects of ourselves: our muse, inner critic and Authentic Self.

Reminder: We are meeting next week Wednesday, April 12th for our Healing Arts Class at 5:00 pm EST. I hope to see you there. Link in comments :)

I’ve been sitting with some juicy inquiries about what it means to be human. This is a part of a drawing I made over the weekend showing a human figure connected to the Earth below, the sun and cosmos above.

Some of my notes include: We are interconnected creators of our intentions.

We are Earth. We are the present past and future.

We dance and move and we have free will.

We are everything, everyone, all of it combined.

Being human means to embrace ALL that we are.

What do you think about what it means to be human? I’d love to know.

Also, this is a quick reminder that we are meeting for a Healing Arts Class tomorrow, Wednesday March 29th at 5:00 pm EST. I hope you will join us! Link in comments :)

These classes are for you if you'd like to deepen your connection and relationship with yourself in a kind and compassionate way.

We use a simple free-form drawing process called metacognitive drawing that anyone can do, but the results people receive are somewhat magical in my humble opinion.

No artistic experience is necessary: All you need is blank paper, markers or any other medium of your choice. The idea is to relax, have fun, and connect with yourself!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I'm excited about the possibilities that the Healing Arts Classes hold for you on your healing and awakening path!

I hope to see you soon :)

This is my Swan Heart meta watercolor drawing from the Healing Arts Class last week. With metacognitive drawing, you never know what you’re going to draw, and for me, it’s always magical because it reveals so much.

In this drawing, I see a heart protected with two swans, gently supported from underneath and from the sides. My heart is being guided and protected, even if it feels like I am under water. Waves of the ocean above me and layers of healing being revealed. I am supported and loved. The swans tell me that all is well. I am loved and there is grace and mercy.

I’m loving giving these classes! If you’d like to join us, we have two more classes scheduled for March:

Tomorrow! Wednesday the 22nd at 12:30 EST and next Wednesday, March 29th at 5:00 pm EST. I hope to see you soon! Link in comments :)

I call this my 'Goo door of possibility.'

Below the painting I wrote,
"Space = doorway = possibility. Question: What is my next step? Goo - caterpillar"

I see a funky door with a spiral door k**b, leading to an open space of the unknown.

I also see a string of 'heart chrysalises' at the top, hanging from a branch.

This is how I have been feeling quite a bit since the beginning of the year. I really couldn't 'plan out' the new year of 2023 because it has simply felt like a blank slate and I've been resting in a lot of unknowing at the moment.

What about you? Are you feeling like you are in the goo, or are you finding clarity as the spring approaches?

This past weekend my beloved and I spent time together in a small town off the Susquehanna River just north of Baltimore, MD. We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and it was a joy to be able to be together near this beautiful river.

While we were there, I had a beautiful meditation where I felt truly connected to the elements of nature, especially the water that gives us life everyday. In my mediation, l became a tree with amazing golden colors spreading out in many directions. It was beautiful!

Later that day we had an art session together and what came out was a depiction of the tree I envisioned during the meditation. I hope you enjoy it! It brings me happiness every time I look at it!

On another note, we are having our Healing Arts Class today and I'd love for you to join us! No art experience is needed and all you need is a blank piece of paper, some markers, or any other medium of your choice.

You can sign up in Eventbrite in the comments. I hope to see you there!

What does becoming "untethered" mean, exactly?

Becoming untethered is synonymous with becoming free to live your life in a way that feels authentic, creative and fulfilling on every level.
