At Zoetis, our commitment to animal health is closely connected to the health of the environments and communities we share. On this Earth Day, we’re recognizing a few examples of colleagues around the world who are taking action to help protect and restore local ecosystems.

In New Jersey, colleagues came together for a coastal cleanup—collecting litter and helping restore a shoreline that both people and wildlife depend on. In Mumbai, India, colleagues spent time in a nature reserve clearing waste from forest trails and supporting conservation efforts by building natural structures to help manage water flow, recharge groundwater, and sustain surrounding vegetation.

These hands-on efforts, while local in impact, contribute to a broader commitment to a healthier, more sustainable future for animals, people, and the planet.

We’re excited to share that Vetscan OptiCell™ will be the first and only point‑of‑care hematology analyzer to offer Cellular Hemoglobin Concentration Mean (CHCM). Previously available only in reference labs, this direct measurement of the average hemoglobin concentration within individual red blood cells delivers greater accuracy than traditional calculated values—especially in complex cases.

Building on OptiCell’s AI-powered, cartridge-based platform that already provides complete blood count (CBC) results in-clinic, we’re expanding capabilities in 2026 with two new parameters, bringing the total to 24. Alongside CHCM, Plateletcrit (PCT) adds insight into platelet volume and health, helping clinicians more effectively detect changes in production or destruction.

Together, these enhancements strengthen OptiCell’s ability to deliver fast, actionable results at the point of care—supporting veterinary teams in making informed decisions and improving patient outcomes.

We’re celebrating five years of the Zoetis Foundation’s work supporting those who care for animals.

The Foundation has distributed $35 million in grant funding from 2021 through the end of 2025 to advance opportunities for veterinary professionals and livestock farmers in addition to supporting humanitarian aid and a matching gifts program. Together with incredible grantees worldwide, the Foundation is making a difference by investing in people who share their time, skills, and care for animals every day.

Currently, veterinary healthcare teams can only provide palliative care for certain chronic diseases like kidney disease.

Our scientists want to change that.

They’ve spent more than a decade researching and developing monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) with the goal of expanding the therapeutic options available to treat chronic diseases in pets.

Change takes shape through people.

Through local organizations working in their communities. Through the veterinarians, farmers, and students whose dedication helps animals thrive and supports the livelihoods built around them.

We’re honoring 5 years of the Zoetis Foundation and the many hands behind its impact. We’re thankful for our grantees around the world for their leadership, commitment, and work—today, and for the years ahead.

Today, on National Agriculture Day, we honor the women who power our farms, ranches, and agricultural communities. For generations, they’ve led with resilience—through unpredictable weather, shifting markets, and evolving disease risks. At Zoetis, we remain dedicated to the women driving the industry forward, delivering innovations and services that help safeguard animal health and strengthen productivity.

What are monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and how do they work?

Scientists engineer mAbs to be species specific. They are designed to mimic a pet’s naturally occurring antibodies and are intended to provide highly targeted treatment.

On World Parasite Awareness Day, we’re highlighting the importance of proactive parasite prevention to help reduce discomfort, illness, and even life-threatening disease. With evolving environmental conditions, parasite risk can shift across borders—reinforcing the need for awareness and veterinary guidance on the most appropriate preventive care.

We’re committed to supporting veterinarians and the broader animal health community through tools and education that help protect pets and the people who care for them.

Veterinary professionals and livestock farmers don’t just care for animals, they sustain communities, and their impact reaches far beyond the clinic and farm.

Five years ago, the Zoetis Foundation was established to support the people who care for animals to ensure their essential work continues. Acknowledging the pressures they face, the Foundation invests in initiatives that advance opportunities for veterinary professionals and livestock farmers.

We’re proud of the progress made so far and will continue to deepen the Foundation’s impact around the world.

We appreciated the opportunity to join industry leaders at the Animal Health Nutrition, Technology and Innovation Summit in London for timely conversations on the future of animal health. As our industry evolves, continued collaboration across the animal health ecosystem will be essential to advancing more predictive, preventive care and delivering lasting impact for animals and the people who depend on them.
