Truly a Night to Shine –
Kudos to the dozen members who worked a full day at Liquid Church. First the usual Friday morning food POD serving 250 families. Then back in the evening to help park 800 cars and cross pedestrians for the annual Tim Tebow Night to Shine, serving some 500 special needs “Kings and Queens” for prom night. Special shout out to Parsippany Rescue & Recovery who saved the day when the parking lot lights failed, by “shining” it up with 4 trucks.

Another busy year with over 5,000 volunteer man hours. At NJ FEMA rates that amounts to about $240,000. The usual Parades, Fireworks, Halloween, Fall Festival, summer concerts & movies, rabies clinic etc. Our largest effort continues to be our weekly food distribution. 44 Food POD’s, on average serving 250 families each week = 11,000 food deliveries. 11 Missing persons calls, 6 storm responses, and 3 -5K charity events. Plus the usual training and drills. Thanks to all our volunteers!

Merry Christmas from NJ DOT - - NOT Really. Vicious winds blew the cross arm and travelers were looking at both RED and GREEN signals. OEM closed off the intersection and waited 3 hours for a crane to repair it. Meanwhile other units we standing by at road closures for downed trees and live wires.
