Today is Marketing Operations Appreciation Day, and we’re celebrating our very own Kim Snyder, Marketing & Outreach Coordinator. ✨ Whether she is planning events, organizing sponsorship opportunities, or composing company newsletters, Kim is always positively promoting the St. George Medical Clinic and going above and beyond for both the organization and her peers.

We couldn’t shine or grow the way we have without the work you do behind the scenes and the way you help showcase our very best. We appreciate you!

Amanda Smith, Pharmacy Director, is another recent graduate of the West Virginia Primary Care Association - WVPCA's Emerging Leader program. She shares her leadership takeaway below:

💡 Leadership Takeaway:
"Leadership is about impacting and inspiring others to be the best version of themselves. The Emerging Leader Program, sponsored by the West Virginia Primary Care Association, gave me the opportunity to become more self-aware of my leadership skills and how I can improve. Building a foundation of trust and modeling behavior are methods that I utilize and will continue to grow. Networking with Healthcare Leaders will positively influence my ability to collaborate, and effectively communicate with not only my team and organization, but others at community health centers across the state of WV."

We’re proud of the knowledge and perspective our leaders bring back to their teams and the positive impact it has on the care we provide every day.

Who better to educate the community on Alcohol Awareness than our very own Amber Gump, Psychologist? 🍻

In recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month, we’re breaking down what moderate vs. heavy alcohol use looks like and when it may be time to seek support.

Q: What is moderate alcohol use?
Amber: Drinking in moderation means limiting alcohol intake to two drinks or less per day for men and one drink or less per day for women.

Q: What is heavy alcohol use?
Amber: The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) defines heavy alcohol use as four or more drinks in a day for men and three or more drinks in a day for women. Binge drinking is defined as consuming five or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women within about two hours.

Q: When should you seek help?
Amber: If alcohol is becoming a way to cope with stress, anxiety, or depression, it may be time to reach out. We offer therapy, medication-assisted treatment, and other support options to help you build healthier coping strategies.

We’re here to support you every step of the way.
