Pasadena CyberKnife Center

Pasadena CyberKnife Center The most advanced, non-invasive, alternative to surgery, cancer treatment center in Los Angeles.

Cyberknife is the most advanced treatment technology for removing cancerous and non-cancerous tumors throughout the body. The CyberKnife software and design is so sophisticated and accurate--to less than a millimeter--that CyberKnife can complete treatments in 5 days or less. The Cyberknife spares healthy tissue, and completes the same treatment that ordinary IMRT, IGRT and Proton Therapy technologies complete over 7-9 weeks. This advanced form of Radiation Delivery is known as Stereotactic RadioSugery (SRS), for brain and head treatments, or Stereotactic Body Radio-Therapy (SBRT), for tumors in the body (lung, prostate, breast, liver, pancreatic, kidney, colorectal). It is called RadioSugery because it achieves the results of surgery, with surgical margins--within a millimeter--without ever making an incision. SRS/SBRT is completed in short treatments lasting 30-90 minutes, for 5 days or less. The advanced design of the CyberKnife Robot can approach a tumor from virtually any angle and is the only technology available that treats and tracks tumors in motion. This is extremely important for lung, prostate, liver, pancreatic and kidney tumors.

“[The CyberKnife treatment] didn’t change anything about how I was feeling. It didn’t hurt and it didn’t take my breath away. It was just like I rested for a couple hours – almost like a spa day.” Read more of Joan's story.

For Joan, a 66-year-old resident of Waldorf, Md., a colonoscopy was the secret to an early diagnosis of lung cancer. Joan’s doctor saw something suspicious during a routine colonoscopy in June 2004 and recommended a CT scan to rule out potential problems. During this appointment, Joan’s husband Bob…
