🍼✨ World Breastfeeding Week: August 1-7✨🍼

Whatever your breastfeeding journey, there is support available for you, whether you breastfeed or not. Perinatal and maternal health community health workers and doulas play a crucial role in supporting low-income mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey. These dedicated professionals provide invaluable guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance to ensure a positive and healthy experience for both mother and baby.πŸ‘©πŸΏβ€πŸΌπŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸΌπŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸΌπŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸΌπŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸΌ

Did you know that 10 states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington, provide doula services through Medicaid at no cost? Additionally, Louisiana and Rhode Island require coverage through private insurance.

🌟 This means more mothers can access the help they need without financial barriers.

States such as California, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Virginia are considering similar coverage initiatives to further support maternal health.

It’s an election year! Advocate for more mothers to have access to this vital support. Spread the word and tell your state representatives to expand these services.

If you are a Community Health Worker or Medicaid doula, join WePair today and request early access to a community that supports your career growth. πŸš€πŸ’Ό

On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom, over two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been enacted.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength of the Black community in America and highlights the ongoing fight against systemic racism and injustice. It motivates us to renew our commitment to creating a more equitable society. Today, WePair reflects on the significance of this moment and the continuous efforts needed to support and uplift those tirelessly fighting for freedom, equality, and justice for all.
