Surrogacy, simply explained 🤍

Surrogacy is a family-building option where a woman (called a surrogate) carries a pregnancy for someone else, known as the intended parent(s).

For many people, surrogacy becomes a path to parenthood when pregnancy isn’t possible or medically safe, or when building a family looks different—such as for same-sex male couples or single parents by choice.

In gestational surrogacy (the most common form today), the surrogate does not have a genetic connection to the baby. An embryo created through IVF is transferred to her uterus, and the intended parent(s) are the baby’s parents from the beginning.

Ethical surrogacy is built on:
