Dr. Ashlee Reid, our Director of Early Childhood and Maternal Mental Health, is on a mission to help kids feel calmer and more confident at the doctor’s office—one playful step at a time! 🧸💕

She’s created special pediatric care kits filled with toys, games, and a fun “Teddy Bear Hospital” set, which is an internationally recognized way to help children build confidence and reduce anxiety through pretend play during their visits. Each kit is designed to turn a doctor’s visit into a more positive, engaging experience, and to offer parents simple ways to support their children.

Gathering together with the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association community is meaningful and rich. Saturday night was the annual January Jubilee festivities, preceded by a retreat for mental health professionals who lost homes or were displaced a year ago in the Eaton Fire. I was privileged to be one of the retreat facilitators, alongside my colleague Amy Guthrie from Trilogy Healing Arts. Gathering to connect, be mindful, regulate our nervous systems, and engage in expressive arts – all in service of community and growth… so important in these times! Thank you to Dr. Shannon Thomas, Dr. Elisa Hernandez and your teams for all the beautiful work you invested to make all this happen! Let’s keep growing and creating!
