Twitter | Instagram Pacific Oaks' campus is in Pasadena, Calif., and classes are also offered through our online campus. Founded more than 65 years ago by a small group of Quaker families, Pacific Oaks College is dedicated to the fundamental Quaker principles of inclusion, social justice, and the valuing of every human being. The institution is known and recognized for its pioneering efforts to reduce bias within our nation's education system, and for equipping graduates with the skills they need to help people from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and strengths uncover and realize their unique individual potentials. Pacific Oaks is known for its progressive approach to learning—valuing real-world experiences as well as academic achievements. This philosophy is embodied through opportunities such as the Credit for Life Experience option, which allows students to gain academic credit for real-world experience acquired in the workplace. Students may earn up to 24 credits in this manner—credits which can be applied toward a bachelor's degree and count toward application for an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy or Human Development. Three basic concepts underlie the educational philosophy at Pacific Oaks:
•that every individual has a fundamental worth;
•that growth is a dynamic and life-long process;
•and that every individual has a unique identity and human potential. Pacific Oaks is accredited by the WASC Senior Colleges and Universities Commission (WSCUC), and has been since 1959.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we reflect with gratitude and pride.

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, we join communities across the nation in honoring the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx individuals whose impact continues to shape our world.

Here at Pacific Oaks College, we celebrated with vibrant festivities featuring cultural displays, food, live music, and community activities. Our gallery also paid tribute to Hispanic educators, leaders, and cultural contributors whose voices continue to inspire our students and strengthen our community. 💚

As we end this month of recognition, we reaffirm our commitment to creating spaces where every story is valued, every voice is heard, and every student is empowered to transform their community, today and every day.

Community in action 💚

Last weekend, our Pasadena campus was filled with purpose as we welcomed the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights for a volunteer training session.

Here at Pacific Oaks, we know the power of community is built on showing up for one another, for our students, and for those who need a voice. We’re proud to stand alongside organizations like the Young Center whose work reflects the heart of our mission: advocating for equity, dignity, and belonging for all.

Our community gathered on our patio courtyard—to honor the life, legacy, and impact of Leanne Wruck, Ph.D. Her time with us as Interim President as well as in her role as Chief Academic Officer at The Community Solution Education System left a deep and lasting impact on both our College and the Children’s School.

We planted a lemon tree, one of Dr. Wruck's favorite California-grown fruits, alongside a commemorative plaque. All who worked with her benefitted from her profound dedication to transformative education, student success, and inclusive leadership.

As students, faculty, staff, and visitors arrive on campus, the tree will be there to welcome them. May it be a symbol of all she helped nurture and grow here at Pacific Oaks. Her legacy will forever be rooted in the spirit of our College and Children's School.
