This afternoon, we hosted a talk by Dr. Mitzi Gonzales, PhD, ABPP, and Associate Professor in Neurology. Dr. Gonzales leads research programs aimed at discovering mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and developing targeted interventions to preserve cognition across the lifespan.

The discussion covered innovative research programs focused on understanding brain health and developing targeted approaches to maintain cognitive wellness as we age.

We're grateful for the opportunity to learn from such accomplished experts in the field. Knowledge sharing like this strengthens our commitment to providing compassionate, informed care.

This past week, we honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of unity and service. There's something special about coming together over good food and shared values. Our BBQ lunch brings our community closer as we reflect on his dream of equality and understanding.

Food has always been a bridge that connects us. It reminds us that despite our differences, we share the same hopes for our families and neighbors. Dr. King believed in the power of community, and we see that spirit alive when we gather around the table.

Tuesday Musicale, which was founded in 1914, is one of Pasadena's oldest organizations. This past week, multiple performers from the Tuesday Musicale gave beautiful renditions.

There's something truly special about the sound of piano keys filling a room with beautiful music. 🎹

This afternoon at Villa Gardens, we welcomed a new community member who brings warmth and wisdom to our family. Our new team member, Rabbi Ratner, who teaches at the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center, is excited to connect with residents and become part of our community fabric.

This week, Villa Gardens held an Assistive Device Tune Up! Our Director of Fitness, Mariam, one of our on-site physical therapists, Dr. Casey, and Jerwin, from our maintenance team, came together to adjust walkers, wheelchairs, and canes just right for our residents.

Making sure mobility aids fit properly can make all the difference in comfort and safety. When mobility equipment fits well, it helps people move with confidence and reduces the risk of discomfort or injury. 🤝

Today, we remember the Eaton fires and pay tribute to all those affected by this tragedy.

Villa Gardens Executive Director, Shaun Rushforth, along with Front Porch's COO, Mary McMullin, and the HEART Fund's Keith Church, believe in the power of coming together when it matters most.

Our residents and staff gathered to share their thoughts on Heart Post-Its. Through this difficult time, we learned that love never fails. We saw the true spirit of community as neighbors helped each other, strangers became friends, and hope grew even in our darkest days.

Our hearts go out to the families, first responders, and entire communities who showed incredible strength during such difficult times.
