POSITION: CERTIFIED SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR OR LICENSE EILIGIBLE CLINICIAN
HOURS: Monday to Friday 9am- 5:30pm
FULL- TIME
LOCATION: 1646 N. Fair Oaks Ave. Pasadena, CA 91103 and 1773 Griffith Park Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
POSITION SUMMARY: This position will provide direct clinical services to the patients of the agency’s outpatient population who identify as having a marginalized s*x, s*xual orientation, and/or gender identity (i.e. LGBT+ community). Such services may include intake and assessments, group, individual, family counseling, crisis intervention, case management and referrals. This position involves driving between various locations to provide services and coordinate with other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred:
• A.A. OR B.A. degree in a social service field.
• M.A. in counseling related field (Master of Marriage and Family Therapy or Masters in Social Work)
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Required:
• Must have proof of a state certification in substance abuse counseling (or related counseling certification) and two years of experience counseling recovering addicts in a program that is licensed by the State of California, Department of Health Care Services.
• Experience or knowledge with evidence based practices including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and ASAM Modules.
• Proponent of patient-centered, trauma informed, culturally appropriate, recovery oriented system of care.
• Ability to obtain an “NPI” Number and “C” Number by time of hire.
• Ability to collaborate with integrated, multi-disciplinary team, behavioral health professionals.
• Attention to detail; ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy; including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Valid California Driver’s License and Identification required.
• Proof of personal auto insurance may be required if position requires driving.
• Must be able to pass a criminal history background screening (Live-scan), as well as maintain a current First Aid/CPR Certification, physical exam, and Tuberculosis test results.
