October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and while we talk a lot about early detection, I want to talk about something just as important: early validation.
Because by the time many women finally make it to my office, they’re exhausted. They’ve been dismissed, told their labs are “normal,” or made to feel like their symptoms are all in their head.
And that’s not okay.
When women are brushed off long enough, they stop trusting their own intuition. That delay can make all the difference in their health journey.
✅We can do better than medical gaslighting.
✅We can listen sooner.
✅We can test more thoroughly.
✅We can connect the dots before crisis hits.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month isn’t just about exams (but do preform your monthly self exam! is a great resource) it’s also a reminder to pay attention to your body and advocate for yourself before you reach the point of desperation.
You deserve to be heard. 💗
